Jada, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
Being a business owner can definitely be stressful at times so vacations are definitely needed. When I go on vacation they are actually business trips because not only am I relaxing, I bring my sunglass case and sell them to the guest at the resort.
By doing that I have been able to meet a lot of nice people from different parts of the world and also grow my customer base. It is very important for me to network everywhere I go as a way to get my brand out there.
Jada, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I began my business in May 2020, I have my own luxury sunglass line. I started my business because I wanted to become my own boss. I’ve dabbled in other business ventures before, but when I started J.Lyshe I was very passionate about it because it’s all mine.
I pride myself in having good customer service, I really want all my customers to be happy with not only the products but with service I provide them.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Starting my business, I used my 9-5 to invest into my business. I began putting money aside and started using that in order to get started. Now that I have been in business for 2 & 1/2 years, I use my profits to reinvest into my business to continue growing my business bigger and bigger.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I began to build my reputation within my market by promoting myself via social media and friends & family telling people about my business via word of mouth. A big thing that I started doing while growing my business is participating in pop-up shops (trade shows).
