We recently connected with Jada Ivy and have shared our conversation below.
Jada, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I wanted to create a place where art and fashion could share a space. The idea came to me when I was trying to figure out how to display my paintings in the best possible way. I started a career at an art gallery and realized creatively I had restrictions, so I created my own studio.(JadasArt Studio) My brand is unique in that each design is created from an original artworks or paintings. The studio started off creating black and white pieces as a reflection of seeing objects in transparent way. I took my passion for clothes and turned my paintings into designs for tees. This was the start in creating my clothing brand Catfish. I created this line to give people the option of creating a new identity of themselves. When someone dresses up in nice clothes our perspective changes about them. This collection was curated to showcase the diversity of fish and the representation of confidence and personality. Combing art and fashion has created a free form of unique concept ideas that allows the consumer to own a piece of art. At JadasArt Studio, I believe that fashion is a form of self-expression, and to recreate a new version everyday objects.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Jada Ivy, designer and director of JadasArt Studio, has turned contemporary art into fashion with her innovative series “The Garden.” Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Jada is a self-taught artist whose work centers around the concept of a garden. She studied music production at the Los Angeles Film School before pursuing her passion for art. Jada first gained recognition for her talent while drawing black and white portraits of customers during her time at Target. For months she studied black and white art creating concepts that reflected the transparency of everyday objects. With the start of her new series “The Garden” Jada’s work sought to convey the limitless growth and resilience found in nature. Not just your ordinary gardener, Jada has reimagined the essence of Mother Nature, showcasing the boundless possibilities of growth and beauty. Jadas unique approach to designer clothing, utilizes an incredible technique that involves transforming original paintings into stunning prints. Each design is meticulously crafted, taking hours of dedicated work and the highest quality of artificial grass and moss sewn by hand. Our innovative creations have garnered attention, being featured in renowned publications like Vogue Projects. As Jada continues to expand the collection, the studio has collaborated with talented artists and brands to bring the vision to life on hoodies, skateboards, 3D art, and commercial advertisements. And now, we are thrilled to introduce our latest addition to the garden: the Bermudas sneaker, nature’s most coveted prize. Scheduled for release later this year, it promises to be a captivating blend of style and danger.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media has been the best way for advertising my business and connecting to clients. I use 3D digital art and commercial videos to build my audience through instagram reels. I learned editing visual advertisement from college to catch the eyes of my followers. This lead to being reposted by brands like Vogue, IG influencers and other designers. My work began spreading that created a network of artist, designers and photographers that I collaborated with. That grew my followers to over 14k. My brand continues to become known for clothes and artworks. To upcoming business owners I would say, create something that allows people to take time to see what it is you want them to know about you or your brand.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best way of getting new clients is the phrase word of mouth. Advertisement can only go so far but when someone mentions or recommends a brand it strikes curiosity. Especially being in fashion it’s about who has heard it and who’s wearing it. I have gain more followers and peoples interest in the studio just off repost and blogs expressing their thoughts on my work. The most successful thing in owning a business is having someone believe in the brand so much that the feel the need to share continuously.
