We recently connected with Jada Howard and have shared our conversation below.
Jada , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project? Coincidentally, I’d say the most meaningful project by far is the project that I put together for this article! Interesting right? Before coming back into the creative space, I was faced with some circumstances that briefly redirected my path.
Looking back to around the time of November 2023, I took a step back from pushing any further projects due to some unforeseen life changes. It was a very grey time period, especially as someone who yearns to create for heart fulfillment. It was a deep intermission of reflection, family matters, and getting back in-tune with myself. I can even admit to reflecting on if pushing projects was worth it or not, I confined in other artists that may have experienced the emotions before and although, very appreciative of their insight, I still felt that grey area.. it wasn’t until I realized and came into the true knowledge of why I started it all that gave me the sun during a cloudy, grey period. The question “why?”. Well, my “why” is that my soul and heart both burn with an overload of inspiration and creativity, my “why” is that that burn becomes so excruciatingly vivid that I have to release it unto the world. My “why” is little Jada who still leaps with curiosity and a desire so strong it ignites fire.. my “why” is because there are many artists like me who’ve faced trials and continued there love of it all throughout and in regards of.. true reminders of strength, purpose and love. My “why” is God.
At that moment of reflection, I found the sun of inspiration and gratitude for grey seasons.. times of preparation and growth. I received an invite to be a feature in Canvas Rebel, and I saw it to be a beautiful opportunity to show gratitude for such a time of not seeing the sun always. I creative directed, styled and edited a beautiful project in collaboration with Joshua Cespedes as the photographer. The project is titled “Divine Love” (Eden), each scene representing a different embodiment of self-aura, love and light.. the many phases, dimensions and realities. I encourage every artist to continue their path of inspiration, know that any destruction along the way can always be rebuilt into a beautiful new foundation.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jada Howard, I’m a Creative Director and Stylist (both varying in wardrobe and hair) based in South, Florida. My interest in the creative industry began as a child participating in acting and modeling, I also grew up around the arts having a brother that is a music producer, and a mother that is licensed in cosmetology. I offer services such as Set Design, Artistic Direction & Writing, Creative Direction & Styling Services! I’m most defined by my love for helping others visualize the creativity within them through Artistic Direction/Creative Direction.
I do believe that we all have an artist living with inside of us, it’s a passion to both be and awaken the artist within each of us.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
This is a discussion that I’ve had with other artists recently, as a society it’s important to truly hold ourselves to a standard of grace and dignity. The creative ecosystem can be pretty cutthroat, which in some cases is necessary, however we aren’t speaking of those cases in this response.. when speaking of the cutthroat sides of the ecosystem, we’re speaking on the limited support within those said communities, the loss of dignity, the loss of respect, and not having enough grace to ourselves or others. Artists and creatives often experience challenges in areas of genuine support or being dismissed due to cliques within a community meant for expansion and free-realm. This bleeds into a pattern that show up in various area of society as a whole.
A big step in being more supportive is by aligning with those two aspects of respect: grace & dignity. Once practiced on an genuine and consistent basis, the community can and will naturally begin to show up in a more thriving manner that would be more beneficial for the creative ecosystem.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Absolutely! I love engaging in reading and watching podcasts. In terms of entrepreneurial management and thinking, I love to watch the Hostess Mel Robbins, she’s an amazing powerhouse that helps to show how our minds and inner-selves play the biggest role in becoming who we’re meant to be on an entrepreneur level. When speaking of books and literature, there are too many to name! Some of my favorites thus far would have to be, “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, “The Creative Act: A Way of Being” by Rick Rubin, and “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki.
I have a deep love for Coelho’s work in “The Alchemist”, I might even say it rebirthed a piece of me in literature that I thought had died. It’s a true testament of having unwavering faith, wisdom, and endurance in your journey no matter the set-backs along the way. A true masterpiece.
