We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jada Bunch a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jada, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I’m hoping to build a legacy that leaves others feeling inspired, excited to create and believe that they are able to do anything they put their mind to. The things that they dream for or scroll on pinterest daydreaming about. Regardless of fear, self doubt or insecurity, they can be all that they set out to be. I think that most people that know me will speak a lot about my unique and imaginative mind. Also how nice I am. Even when I was shy at first. I’d love to be remembered as that. I want people to remember me and how kind and gentle hearted I was when they were in contact with me. I want to be remembered for my creativity and how I brought it to this earth in my own beautiful, Jada way.
Jada, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
When I first got started I didn’t know who I wanted to be or what I wanted to do if i’m honest. I went to community college to find out that I didn’t want to do any regular courses. That’s when I began dabbling into makeup and instantly fell in love with the application and process of doing it. Then I would photograph it for instagram and it started to grow an audience after while. I enjoyed it very much. Then I developed a love for interior decorating the moment I downloaded pinterest. I started moving my room around frequently to test out different looks and style bedrooms. I eventually went to Ashworth and got a certificate for interior decorating and have loved it ever since. I currently am a freelance makeup artist. I’m heavily into enhancing inner beauty and believe that ‘less is more’. And that’s what I provide to my clients each time, leaving them feeling refreshed with a glow. I also teach beginners how to apply their own makeup to take off the pressure so that they feel confident to do it themselves.
For my interior decorating business I provide room decorating and organization to give my clients an airy, peaceful, aesthetically pleasing and organized home.
I take pride in being kind and understanding to my clients. Also being trustworthy. I believe in making sure that when new or old clients come to me that they look at me as their “go to” person because they trust me to provide the service that they need.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn self doubt. It really held me back from just moving. Whether it was calling a person, saying yes to an appointment or connecting with someone in my industry. I was anxious all the time about it. Sometimes I still am but I know I have to get past it and the more I do it, the better.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Word of mouth. Word get’s around and I always want the people I work with to be happy. That can travel to others and the right people will contact you.
