We were lucky to catch up with Jacquisha Todd recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jacquisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The story behind my mission is, I’ve always been a peoples person and always had a passion for helping people. I sit and observe social media friends and see different things in the nature of competition with one another. When in reality there’s no competition when you’re from different places, have family in different states, etc. Clientele can literally come from all over. With that being said I created a platform/organization called Lets Talk Black-Owned Business. Its a corporation that helps businesses succeed and be pushed to their full potential. This corporation is a no judgement no competition zone. If I know the information so would you. I always compare this organization to the old saying “It takes a village to raise a child” well it takes a village to have a successful business whether its family and friends or strangers, you need that village. LTBOB is your village in the business world.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Jacquisha “Tiny” Todd, the CEO of multiple businesses. TinyTEEs n Customs LLC is the very first business I created back in 2017. This business is my baby here. This is a custom tshirt, jewelry, etc business and I also supply all blank custom needs. Lets Talk Black-Owned Business Corp is an organization designed to help uplift, educate, market, and highlight businesses in the metro area. Wealthy Kidz Clothing is clothing line my son created after watching years of his mom being an entrepreneur it inspired him to be one as well.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Funding your business is probably one of the TOP reasons business owners get discourage. I’m guilty, there’s been plenty of times it came to whether to pay these bills or get an extension and purchase products to sell to make more money I know some can relate. Then I started researching that you could get sponsorships, you can get grants(if your business is set up the right way in which LTBOB can help you with that) its so many different sources to fund your business. My initial capital came from my full time job paychecks. The money I had left after paying bills and etc. Researching will take you a very long way and always remember IT TAKES MONEY TO MAKE MONEY.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think what helped build my rep is the brainstorming of ideas and actually doing instead of talking about it. I think my target audience see that I’m a selfless person and want to see them win. They see that I rather uplift and highlight them instead of myself. Just being consistence and having an open door for them to reach out to me and ask anything. If I know it i’ll give it if I don’t know it I’ll find out.
