We recently connected with Jacqueline Vignona and have shared our conversation below.
Jacqueline, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I decided to shift my business from a product based business to a digital content creator when COVID hit in 2020. I had been running a baked goods business but knew that business was going to be greatly impacted because of the pandemic so I decided to pivot. I started creating digital marketing ads for food & beverage companies instead. I started small and eventually started working with global brands & household names. It really was a blessing in disguise since I went from a very small profit margin with a large overhead to no overhead & a large profit margin. I absolutely love what I do now. I love being able to bring a product to life through my recipes & cocktails. I feel so lucky to be able to work with so many amazing brands as well!
Jacqueline, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a food & beverage content creator. I create marketing & advertising pieces through my recipes & then share them on my social platforms to help create product & brand awareness for the product/brand. The client (the brand) will also share the ad on their social platforms and/or websites. I think what sets me apart from others is that I can create just about any kind of recipe for any kind food/drink product on the market. Not only are my recipes unique & creative but I’m also able to style the food/drink in a way that’s beautiful & appealing to the eye.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
When I first started as a digital creator it was definitely a side hustle. However as I started to perfect my craft I slowly got more clients and larger contracts. Once I started to create larger ads for larger companies I was able to raise my prices. Now I’m at a place where I have long term contracts in place & have been apart of really large marketing projects.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I have been lucky enough to have been found by my clients on social media. More specifically Instagram. It’s a great way to find new talent or clients. I consistently show my work & my ability on the platform so other potential clients can get a preview of what they’re getting when they hire me.
