Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jacqueline Parsons. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jacqueline , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I consider myself a natural talent in what I do as a model/creative. My background in stage performance and dance prepared me with stage presence and also helped enhance my outgoing personality. In my hometown, pageantry was one of the main events growing up so I found myself taking a keen interest in the modeling and talent segments of the shows that I would attend. Before embarking on my modeling career, I have not had any model training.
I do not believe that there’s anything I could have done to speed up my learning process. I believe in divine timing and there’s nothing you can do to rush that process. I do feel that I’m more prepared now than before. There were many life lessons I had to learn before moving
forward into this new phase of my life.
Confidence is the most essential skill as a model. A bold and daring presence is most memorable. Being determined and willing to learn as much as you can about modeling, such as the basic techniques and the industry standards are all essential in mastering the craft if you’re
serious about becoming a professional model.
I found myself trying to build friendships and relationships with individuals that were not supportive and that brought lots of negativity into my life. This caused me unnecessary setbacks in pursuing my passions and goals. Since I’ve detached myself from toxic people, places, and things; I’ve been able to focus fully on myself. I’ve elevated into my higher self. I’m now doing the things that bring me peace and happiness. I’ve been investing in my craft; taking classes, building my portfolio, networking, and partnering with other talented individuals like myself.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve always loved entertaining and shared a deep passion for dance and acting. In 2006, I received my BFA in Film from the Ai Miami International University of Art & Design in Miami, FL. Upon graduating; two years later, I moved back to my hometown, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin
Islands with my daughter who was 1 1/2 at the time. While working full-time and raising my daughter, I was excited to join a local performance group that allowed me to indulge in my passion for dance and entertainment. As a member of this group, I became a dance and fitness
instructor. I performed locally and throughout the U.S. and also appeared on The Wendy Williams Show as a carnival dancer in her 2014 segment: Hot Tropics Giveaway to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
In 2016, I decided to relocate to Georgia with my daughter. I felt like moving was the best decision for both of us for better opportunities also, as an artist there was much more that I wanted to accomplish. In 2022, I decided to focus fully on turning my passions into career goals.
I’m mostly proud of how much I’ve achieved and my willingness to keep striving for success regardless of the circumstances. I’ve been placed in many overwhelming situations where I could’ve given up on myself and my dreams but I didn’t. I’m also proud of the inner strength that’s within me. Without it, I wouldn’t be as far as I am today.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I had to unlearn is that if you operate from a place of lack; you’re not going to get very far in life. Even though I’m an ambitious person, I was associating myself with people who did not share the same goals and desires as myself. They were not operating from their higher
self which caused me to not be as driven as a needed to be. This ended up making my life stagnant and unfulfilling. Since I’ve made the necessary changes, I now understand that the road to success sometimes requires you to leave behind those that no longer resonate with who
you’re trying to become.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to become the best version of myself. I’m in a place in my life where all of the focus is on me and making my life better. The end goal is to live the life of my dreams. I want to continue to learn and grow. I want to be a well-known established model/creative artist. I want my success story to help those who are experiencing similar hardships. I want to be able to provide a platform that helps individuals escape toxic environments that’s hindering them from
operating from their higher selves.
