Hi Jacqueline, thanks for joining us today. Can you share a customer success story with us?

I received a message on TikTok from a woman who was searching for a family photographer.
Someone who could capture heartfelt moments in the comfort of her own home.
She came across my page and immediately felt a connection.
What stood out to her most was that I offered exactly what she was looking for: printed wall art to fill her home with love and memories.

We jumped on a phone call to go over the details and get to know each other better. I learned about her beautiful family, the space she envisioned her artwork in, and what this session would mean to her.
After sharing a custom quote, she booked her session.

The shoot itself was full of warmth and laughter—just as a family session should be. Afterward, we walked through framing options and chose her absolute favorite images to create a custom 8-photo wall collage. The final result was stunning, personal, and exactly what she had hoped for.

Today, that collage hangs proudly in the hallway of her home—a daily reminder of love, connection, and the beauty of her family’s story. Knowing I could help bring that vision to life is what makes this work so meaningful.

Jacqueline, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My Jacqueline Meza, the heart behind Jay’s Lens Photography.
My passion for photography began in childhood, capturing everyday moments with my film camera.
That early love for storytelling through images eventually grew into a calling.

In 2022, I launched Jay’s Lens Photography as a boutique-style experience offering more than just photos.
I provide timeless wall art, prints, and heirloom albums that allow families to truly preserve and celebrate their memories. I’ll even come by to help hang your artwork, because your memories deserve to be showcased with care.

At the core of my work is a deep desire to help people feel seen, loved, and reminded of their purpose.
Every session is an opportunity to reflect God’s light and tell the unique, beautiful story of you or your family.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

How My Side Hustle Became My Calling

At the end of 2017, my husband surprised me with my very first digital camera.
What started as taking photos and videos at home for our family quickly turned into something more.
I began capturing moments for friends and extended family, and before I knew it, I was a photographer.

In the beginning, I charged about $50 per session and balanced photography with my full-time 9–5 job.
I took on sessions only on weekends or whenever I had time off. Slowly but surely, my passion kept growing.

Then in 2022, everything changed.
My husband and I had an honest conversation, and after prayer and trusting in God’s guidance, we made a big decision: I would leave my 9–5 job and fully invest in myself and my dream.
That same year, I officially registered
Jay’s Lens Photography, and this beautiful journey began.

Becoming a full-time business owner was a major milestone, and I’ve never looked back.
I kept showing up, growing in confidence, and pouring my heart into every session.
Today, I’m blessed to serve both returning and new clients, many of whom have found me through Google, Instagram, and TikTok.

I’m still learning, still growing, and most importantly, still trusting that God has a purpose for this gift.
What began as a side hustle has become a calling. One that I’m honored to live out every single day.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

For me, the best sources of new clients have been a combination of social media and word-of-mouth referrals.
Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Google have played a huge role in helping people discover my work.

Sharing behind-the-scenes content, finished galleries, and personal moments has helped potential clients connect with me not just as a photographer, but as a person.

In addition to that, referrals from past clients have been incredibly impactful.
When someone loves their experience and shares it with a friend or family member, it means everything.
It’s one of the most trusted ways new clients find their way to me.

At the heart of it all, I believe it’s about being consistent, showing up authentically, and creating a photography experience that people want to talk about and share with others.
