We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jacqueline Huang a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jacqueline, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
One of the most exciting trends we’re seeing in motion graphics, graphic design, and visual design right now is the rise of immersive and interactive experiences, particularly through augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). What used to be experimental and niche has now become almost an expectation for many digital experiences, whether we’re talking about advertising, product launches, or social media.
Let me tell you about a project that really captured the essence of this trend. A global beverage brand was preparing to launch a new product, and instead of sticking to traditional video ads or static visuals, they wanted something more engaging. So, the creative agency developed an interactive AR experience that let users “unbox” the product virtually. Using their phones, people could scan a QR code, and the product appeared on their screens with animations, typography, and special effects that literally popped off the can. It was more than just a cool visual trick—it made the audience feel like they were part of the story. The result? The campaign generated tons of buzz, had high user engagement, and people were sharing the experience across their social networks.
This trend offers incredible opportunities. It allows designers to create more personalized, interactive experiences that connect users to a brand in ways we haven’t seen before. It’s a chance to move beyond the limits of static images or even linear animations and dive into a space where design is alive and reactive.
But, of course, there are challenges too. Designing for AR or VR isn’t just about having great visual skills. It requires a deep understanding of technology and how these experiences will play out in the real world. Plus, not everyone has access to the latest tech, so we need to be mindful of inclusivity. How do you create a cutting-edge experience that doesn’t exclude anyone? Balancing these two sides—pushing innovation while staying accessible—is something designers will have to grapple with as this trend evolves.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jacqueline Huang, and I work in the intersection of motion graphics, visual design, and illustration. My journey into this field was driven by a passion for visual storytelling and design that began at a young age. I’ve always been fascinated by how visuals—whether through animation, branding, or even subtle textures—can evoke emotion and communicate complex ideas in ways that words alone sometimes cannot. That curiosity led me down a path of learning, experimenting, and ultimately creating a space for myself in the design world.
As for what I do, I specialize in crafting visual experiences through motion design, animation, illustration, and graphic design. I work on a wide range of projects, from animated branding and social media content to more intricate visual narratives for films, advertising, and digital platforms. Whether I’m collaborating with other designers and illustrators or working directly with a brand, my focus is always on bringing a concept to life in a way that feels dynamic and engaging. My goal is to not just make things look visually stunning but to give them a sense of purpose and story.
One of the problems I solve for clients is helping them bridge the gap between creative ideas and practical execution. Often, clients come to me with a vision, but they don’t quite know how to turn that idea into a visual reality—especially in a world where digital experiences are becoming more interactive and immersive. That’s where I step in, offering not only creative solutions but also a strategic approach to ensure that their visuals are aligned with their brand’s goals and audience expectations.
What sets me apart, I believe, is my ability to balance both creativity and practicality. I am deeply invested in the artistry of what I create, but I’m also conscious of deadlines, budgets, and client objectives. It’s not just about creating something beautiful—it’s about making sure it works in the real world. I also love pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with new technologies, whether that’s integrating AR elements or crafting dynamic visual stories that really connect with people on a deeper level.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built through my work. Being able to collaborate with other talented designers, illustrators, and brands has been such a rewarding experience. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on projects that really challenge me to grow, whether it’s a complex animated narrative or a branding project that requires a unique visual approach.
If there’s one thing I’d want people to know about me and my work, it’s that I approach every project with the mindset that it’s a collaboration. Whether you’re a big brand or an independent creator, my goal is to understand your vision and work together to bring it to life in a way that feels authentic and meaningful. I strive for a blend of creativity and realness, always keeping an eye on the bigger picture while paying attention to the smallest details.
In short, I’m here to help turn creative ideas into visually compelling experiences, and I’m always excited to work with clients who are just as passionate about bringing their vision to life as I am.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
At the core of my creative journey is a mission to craft meaningful visual stories that resonate on both an emotional and intellectual level. My goal is to bridge the gap between artistry and communication, ensuring that every piece of design I create serves a purpose beyond just looking aesthetically pleasing. I want to evoke a deeper connection—whether it’s between a brand and its audience, or an individual and the experience they’re engaging with.
In a world saturated with visuals and media, I strive to bring authenticity and intention into everything I create. I believe that design and motion graphics should not only capture attention but also tell a story, spark curiosity, and leave a lasting impact. This means I focus not just on the “how” of design but also the “why”—understanding the broader context, the client’s goals, and the message that needs to be communicated.
Ultimately, my mission is to help elevate creative ideas to their fullest potential by infusing them with depth, creativity, and a sense of purpose. I want my work to be both visually captivating and conceptually strong, creating experiences that stay with people long after they’ve seen them.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is the ability to bring intangible ideas to life—taking a thought, emotion, or concept that exists only in someone’s mind and transforming it into something tangible, something that can be seen, felt, or experienced by others. There’s a certain magic in that process, the way creativity can take something abstract and make it real, visually speaking.
It’s also incredibly rewarding to see how my work resonates with people. Whether it’s a motion graphic that evokes an emotional response, a design that helps tell a brand’s story, or an animation that engages and entertains, knowing that my work has made an impact is what drives me. It’s a great feeling when a project you’ve poured your heart into not only meets the client’s expectations but connects with the audience in unexpected ways.
Collaboration is another aspect I find deeply fulfilling. Working with other creatives—designers, illustrators, animators—brings out new ideas and perspectives that push me to grow as an artist. It’s like feeding off each other’s energy to create something even more remarkable than what you could have done alone. That sense of community, of learning and evolving together, is something I truly value in this field.
At the end of the day, the most rewarding part is knowing that what I create has purpose and can inspire, inform, or connect with people on a deeper level. That’s the ultimate goal for me—using my creativity to leave a meaningful impact.
