We recently connected with Jacqueline Ciulla and have shared our conversation below.
Jacqueline , appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Some of the biggest trends I am seeing in my industry is very effortless lived in hair, which we have been seeing in the last few months. I believe there is a great way to create a high impact color while still giving a natural soft blend to the hair. I also have seen a shift in education with a lot of the hair stylists I look up too creating virtual education events which is great to receive education from the comfort of your home. The ability to also go back and rewatch has been effective in the sense that I am always able to refresh anytime and rewatch to truly grasp what I have learned.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Jacqueline, I am a published bridal hairstylist and a lived in, low maintenance blonding specialist. I work out of a salon called @fancy.hairdressers a collective group of hairstylist working together in Roswell, Georgia. I have been in the hair industry since 2013 graduating from Paul Mitchell. After working in a salon for a few years I decided to start working independently and moved into a Salon Loft, this is where Curated Hair started. I strived to bring my clientele all the latest trends and staying on top of my education it was there that I grew a flourishing business that has sustained even through a pandemic. The bridal part came after I started offering my services to styled bridal photo shoots and after working with multiple vendors I started to see my free work paying off, having high quality professional images of my work. I then decided to join The Knot as a way to advertise my services after being published on multiple wedding blogs. This past year Curated Hair and Company was awarded the Best of Weddings for the year of 2021.
Whether you are a color client or a bride, you can always expect the utmost attention to detail and love I put into every head of hair I work with. If it is not right I will make sure the client is happy and there hair fits every aspect of their lifestyle, not to mention I have a very organic approach to color and work with natural earthy tones. Giving a truly lived in look. Brides are my superstars I want them to look and feel there absolute best on a milestone day in their life.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I am currently pivoting in my career right now for the last six years I have been working in a small salon, suite and I was lacking inspiration. I was lacking connection and felt very lonely and out of place. I knew I needed somewhere to go where I could thrive and have inspiration around me. I was not looking and an opportunity to join fancy hairdressers opened up to me, and to work with a collective group of successful motivated. Beauty professionals has been a gift within itself to me. It has re-imagined what I could do and how to get where I want to go because I was burnt out for a long time and I feel a spark and a confidence again that I haven’t felt in a very long time..
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I am a firm believer in staying in your lane, what that means is if you are good at something perfect it, master it, and make sure you can follow through with it again and again. When it comes to my bridal clients, I make sure I am honest upfront and let them know that I offer a very effortless chic, romantic bridal look What that entails is very boho braids, twist, messy buns and half of half down looks. That is what I love to do. It is the most beautiful in my opinion and it really allows a Bride to embrace who they are with a simple enhanced look.
