We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jacqueline Boatwright. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jacqueline below.
Jacqueline, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My business ventures were birthed during one of the most trying and emotionally intense periods of my life. My youngest son suffered a tragic injury at daycare when he was just 14 months old. In the aftermath, I made the decision to care for him at home full-time. As any mother would, I was determined to protect him from further harm in every way possible.
One day, I had a barber come to our home to cut his hair—a simple act, but it led to an unexpected complication. He developed a scalp fungus. Because he was bedridden and had limited mobility, I became deeply focused on preserving the health of his skin and scalp. I realized I couldn’t trust just any product on the market to meet his needs—especially with his condition—so I took matters into my own hands.
That’s how **Juanderful Products** came into existence. What started as a labor of love—a mother creating safe, gentle, and effective hair and skincare solutions for her son—quickly revealed itself to be something much bigger. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the products didn’t just help with common scalp and skin issues—they actually promoted healthy hair growth and kept the skin youthful and vibrant.
I knew I had something worthwhile when others began to ask what I was using, and when I saw consistent, visible results not just for my son, but for others who tried it. The logic was simple but powerful: I was solving a real problem from a deeply personal place, using ingredients and methods that were rooted in both love and research. There were plenty of products on the market, but very few that were created out of the kind of care, caution, and purpose that mine were.
Juanderful Products was named in honor of my son, and his journey has become the heartbeat of this brand. That’s what makes it so unique. It’s not just about beauty—it’s about healing, hope, and resilience.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Jackie Boatwright-Daus, and I’m a passionate entrepreneur, creator, and advocate who turned personal pain into powerful purpose. I’m the founder of **Juanderful Enterprises LLC**, which serves as the umbrella for several dynamic ventures—including **Juanderful Products**, **Jacqueleen’s Southern Porch**, **Juanderful Aesthetics**, and **Juanderful Consulting**, to name a few.
My entry into the world of business wasn’t conventional—it was born out of necessity, love, and an unshakable desire to protect and provide for my son. After he suffered a devastating injury at daycare at just 14 months old, I became his full-time caregiver. During that journey, I developed a line of hair and skincare products to treat issues he was experiencing while bedridden. What began as a deeply personal solution evolved into **Juanderful Products**, a brand that now helps others address hair loss, scalp health, and skin issues—while also promoting ageless beauty and healthy hair growth.
From there, my vision expanded. I began to build businesses around the things I love most—Southern food, wellness, beauty, advocacy, and helping others bring their own dreams to life. Today, my companies provide a wide range of services and products:
– **Juanderful Products**: Natural, effective hair and skin care products created from a mother’s love—with results that speak for themselves.
– **Jacqueleen’s Southern Porch**: A fine-dining soul food restaurant with etiquette courses and tea party experiences, offering comfort food with elegance.
– **Juanderful Aesthetics**: A medical spa specializing in weight loss, hair loss treatment, skin solutions, and advanced beauty services.
– **Juanderful Consulting**: Business, publishing, restaurant, and medical practice consulting—helping others launch and grow their dreams.
– **Juanderful Event Planning**: Transforming special occasions into unforgettable experiences.
– **The Anthony DeJuan Boatwright Foundation**: Advocating for children and families through meaningful outreach and education.
What sets me apart is that everything I do is rooted in purpose. I don’t just create products or services—I create solutions. Every brand under Juanderful Enterprises comes from a lived experience, a lesson, and a commitment to excellence. My clients know they’re not just getting a product or service; they’re connecting with someone who truly cares about their outcome.
I’m most proud of the impact. Seeing someone regain their confidence through our skincare, watching a family enjoy a meal at our restaurant, or guiding a new entrepreneur through launching their dream—that’s what drives me. I want potential clients, followers, and supporters to know that everything I build is powered by love, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Whether you’re looking for healing, guidance, inspiration, or just good food and good vibes—you’ll find it in my world. This is more than business—it’s a calling
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the difference between *creating a business* and *creating a job for myself*. In the beginning, like many passionate entrepreneurs, I poured everything into my ventures—my time, my energy, my money, my heart. I was wearing every hat: the owner, the manager, the marketer, the receptionist, the fulfillment team—you name it. And while I was technically “in business,” I realized I hadn’t really built a *scalable* or *sustainable* company. What I had built was a demanding job that relied completely on me to survive.
The turning point came when I found myself overwhelmed, exhausted, and barely able to step away for even a day without operations stalling. That’s when I had to pause and reflect. I had to ask myself: “If I’m the only one who can keep this running, is this really freedom? Is this really ownership?” The answer was no.
So I began to study the principles of *systems*, *delegation*, and *scaling*. I had to unlearn the belief that being “busy” or doing everything myself was a badge of honor. I had to embrace the idea that real business ownership means being able to *step away* and still have the business function and grow. That shift in mindset changed everything for me.
Now, I build with intention. I create businesses that can operate without me being in the center of every decision. I focus on hiring, training, automating, and building infrastructure. This not only gives me room to breathe and grow—it also creates opportunities for others and sets my ventures up for longevity.
Unlearning that hustle mentality wasn’t easy

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation within my market was **authenticity in self** and the **audacity of hope**. I made a decision early on that I would never water myself down or shrink to make others comfortable. I showed up real, raw, and rooted in purpose—and that’s what drew people in. I didn’t pretend to have it all figured out, but I *was* consistent. I didn’t try to mirror what others were doing—I created a lane that was uniquely mine.
People can feel when you’re genuine. They can also feel when you’re faking it. I knew that my power was in my story and my truth, so I let that shine. Whether I was formulating Juanderful Products at my kitchen table or greeting guests at Jacqueleen’s Southern Porch, I brought all of me to the table. And that authenticity turned customers into family, and supporters into advocates.
Then came the **audacity of hope**—the kind that refuses to let your present circumstances dictate your future potential. Even during the darkest times, when I was caring for my son and unsure of what tomorrow held, I had hope. Hope that my pain had purpose. Hope that my story would inspire. Hope that the vision I had in my heart could actually become real. That kind of hope isn’t passive—it’s *active*. It fueled my discipline, my bold moves, my late nights, and my big dreams. It’s what gave me the courage to create, launch, and grow, even when I didn’t have all the answers.
Another major part of building my reputation was understanding that **everyone isn’t my customer—and that’s not rejection, that’s redirection**. Trying to please everyone is the quickest way to dilute your brand. The moment I understood who I was called to serve—and leaned into *that*—everything changed. I became more focused, more confident, and more aligned. I started attracting the right people: those who value quality, purpose, and integrity. And when you show up consistently for your *true* audience, word spreads. That’s when your reputation begins to carry its own weight.
Over time, people began to associate my name and brands with excellence, intention, and impact. That’s what I’m most proud of—that I built this by being *me*. No gimmicks, no shortcuts—just purpose, passion, and the willingness to keep going.
