We recently connected with Jacob Klaven and have shared our conversation below.
Jacob, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Magnivents started from a moment at an event, not from a business plan. I was watching people take photos at a traditional photo booth, laugh, grab their prints, and then immediately move on. A few minutes later those photo strips were already bent, left on tables, or forgotten. At the same time, I thought about my own fridge at home, covered in magnets from family events and meaningful moments. Those photos get seen every single day. That contrast really stuck with me emotionally and made me realize how temporary most event memories actually are.
The idea behind Magnivents was to turn a fun moment into something lasting. Instead of giving people a disposable print, we create high quality photo magnets on the spot that guests actually keep and display. From a logic standpoint, it made complete sense. Hosts were already paying for entertainment, but this gave them something that lived on in guests’ homes for months or years. Guests immediately understood the value and loved it. What excited me most was seeing people say, “This is going straight on my fridge.” That was when I knew Magnivents was solving a real problem in a simple, unique way by making memories visible long after the event ended.

Jacob, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m the founder of Magnivents, a live event experience company built around the idea that memories should last longer than the moment they’re created. My background is a mix of technology, event planning, and people-focused work, and throughout my career I’ve always been drawn to experiences that bring people together in meaningful ways. That combination naturally led me into the events space, where emotion, storytelling, and shared moments all intersect.
Magnivents was born when I noticed a gap in the event industry. Traditional photo booths were fun, but fleeting. Guests would take photos, enjoy the moment, and then the prints would be forgotten or thrown away. I realized there was an opportunity to rethink what an event takeaway could be. Instead of something disposable, Magnivents creates high-quality photo magnets on the spot. These aren’t just photos. They’re keepsakes that end up on fridges, lockers, and office boards, where they’re seen every day and continue to spark joy long after the event is over.
What we provide goes beyond a photo booth. We offer a fully guided, high-touch experience where a roaming photographer captures candid moments, interacts with guests, and turns those moments into physical memories in real time. Our services are popular for weddings, mitzvahs, corporate events, nonprofits, schools, and community gatherings. For hosts, we solve the problem of spending money on entertainment that disappears. For guests, we give them something meaningful they actually want to keep.
What sets Magnivents apart is our focus on longevity and intention. Every detail is designed to elevate both the experience and the final product. We prioritize image quality, thoughtful branding, and warm human interaction. We are not just dropping off equipment. We are actively part of the celebration. That personal presence is something clients consistently notice and appreciate.
What I’m most proud of is how often clients tell me that their guests still talk about the magnets months or even years later. That tells me we’re doing something right. Magnivents is not about volume or gimmicks. It’s about creating something that feels personal, joyful, and lasting. The main thing I want people to know about Magnivents is that we care deeply about the moments we’re trusted with. When someone invites us into their celebration, we treat it like it matters, because it does.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What really helped me build a strong reputation in our market is consistency in both quality and how we treat people. From day one, I made a conscious decision that every event would receive the same level of care and attention, regardless of size, budget, or who the client was. Whether we’re at a six-year-old’s birthday party or a private holiday event for someone like Fred Smith, the experience we deliver is held to the exact same standard.
We focus heavily on quality, from the way we interact with guests to the equipment we use and the final product we hand to someone at the end of the night. Our photo magnets are produced with the same care and attention every single time, and we never treat an event as “just another booking.” People notice when you show up prepared, engaged, and genuinely invested in their event, and that level of professionalism travels fast through word of mouth.
Customer service is the foundation of everything we do. We listen closely, communicate clearly, and treat every client with respect and enthusiasm. That approach builds trust, and trust builds reputation. When clients know they’re going to be taken seriously and cared for, no matter who they are, they feel confident recommending us. Over time, that consistency has become one of the strongest parts of the Magnivents brand.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
By far, the best source of new clients for us has been word of mouth and people experiencing our services firsthand. When guests see Magnivents in action at an event, it clicks immediately. They don’t just understand it, they feel the difference compared to a traditional photo booth. Walking away with a high-quality photo magnet that they actually want to keep leaves a strong impression.
Because we enhance the traditional photo booth experience rather than just replicate it, people are often blown away by how unique and thoughtful it feels. That excitement naturally turns into conversations and referrals. Pair that with competitive pricing, and it becomes an easy decision for someone who has already experienced the value to want Magnivents at their own party or event.
