We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jacob Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jacob , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
Some of the most unexpected problems in my career were health related. Ive had heart surgery, and a severe case of staph infection that set me back for 6 months.these skin irritations are common in grappling sports. I was about 17 years old when I was going through it .I dealt with it and got back to training, my parents were there the entire time , taking care of me and speaking to the Dr’s with me.

Jacob , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My jiu-jitsu journey started in new jersey at age 6 after a bullying situation took place at a family function. My aunt who is a Newark New Jersey police officer introduced me to the martial art. I went on and participated in local and international competitions in jiu-jitsu, judo and wrestling, also cross training in boxing , muay Thai and karate.i did aspire to become an mma fighter , but i changed my mind at about 17 years old. Im most proud of myself for staying in the sport as ling as I have, jiu-jitsu isn’t easy to learn or compete in. 16 years and going.my parents have been the driving force behind my success. I am also interested in opening my own jiu-jitsu academy and teaching other young people and adults what I’ve learned for years. I am also interested in going into the film industry as an actor /action star.my nick name The Bull c9mes from my horoscope sign Taurus ♉️ the sign of The Bull and my fast paced fight style similar to a charging Bull. I’ve learned in my life to accept losses as victories and take victories as more motivation to continue working hard.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes, time flies and everything great and fun in life should be done while we are young and strong 💪🏼
