We recently connected with Jaclynn Buchanan and have shared our conversation below.
Jaclynn, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I wouldn’t change a thing or go back in time! I believe in divine timing, trusting that everything unfolds exactly as it should. I’m truly grateful for starting my agency at this point in my life. After nearly 15 years in the industry, I’ve gained a depth of knowledge that I couldn’t have acquired any earlier. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of personalities, each one shaping me into the business owner I am today. These experiences have given me valuable insights into what I love and what I want to avoid, helping me make the best decisions for my business and clients. My background in fashion, social media, and talent management has significantly influenced my vision as an agency owner, allowing me to take a fresh approach and do things differently.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My journey into the world of media and talent management spans over 15 years, and it all started with a deep passion for fashion, social media, and the way brands connect with people. I’ve always been fascinated by storytelling and how impactful narratives can shape a brand’s success, which ultimately led me to create my own agency.
Good Day Agency specializes in strategic brand partnerships, PR opportunities, and talent management, offering a full suite of services tailored to help individuals and businesses elevate their presence across various media channels. Whether it’s through social media strategies, brand partnerships, or helping talent align with the right opportunities, we aim to create seamless, effective campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
What sets us apart is our hands-on, personalized approach. We don’t just work for our clients; we work with them, taking the time to understand their unique needs, goals, and vision. My years of experience in the industry have given me the insight to know what works and what doesn’t, allowing us to craft custom strategies that truly make a difference.
I’m especially proud of the relationships we’ve built and the trust our clients place in us. Whether it’s helping talent land a major deal or guiding a brand through a successful campaign, seeing our clients succeed is my greatest reward.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most important lessons I had to learn is that following the path people expect of you isn’t always the most rewarding—especially in business. For a long time, I was a people pleaser, always trying to meet others’ expectations. But over time, I realized that despite all my efforts, my success wasn’t what I had hoped for. It became clear that constantly trying to fit into someone else’s mold was holding me back.
When I started trusting my own instincts and allowing myself to do things in a way that felt authentic—even if it was unconventional—that’s when I began to see the most success. This was a huge shift for me, and it wasn’t easy to embrace at first, especially when you’re used to working under someone else’s vision. That’s one of the main reasons I decided to start Good Day Agency. I wanted the freedom to lead creatively and make decisions without feeling restricted. Now, I can follow my own process, trusting my ideas, and that has made all the difference.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been authenticity. Authenticity touches every aspect of my business—from how I connect with clients to how I approach new opportunities. When you show up each day with a fresh mindset, eager to understand and collaborate with your clients, it creates an environment of trust and mutual respect. That openness allows me to help them succeed, which naturally leads to business growth.
I’ve found that it’s not about constantly trying to prove myself; rather, it’s about being present, collaborative, and respecting the process needed to get the best results. When clients feel that you genuinely care about their success, they’ll want to work with you long-term. And the great results that come from that authentic relationship always attract more great people and new opportunities. That’s been key to my agency’s growth.
