Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jaclyn Siegel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jaclyn, thanks for joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I love this question because it touches on my core motivations: why I became an Aesthetician, started my own business, and chose to specialize in acne. My defining moment came from my own struggle with acne and how I was treated by Dermatologists. I first got acne when I was 10 years old. I remember the tears and the frustration of not finding a solution. It wasn’t until I experienced the lack of empathy and support from Dermatologists that I realized I wanted to become an Aesthetician. I wanted to show people they can clear their skin with the proper skincare and education rather than relying solely on drugs and medications. Having acne was a blessing in disguise. It truly gave me the empathy and insight I needed to help my clients with their skin conditions.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Jaclyn Siegel, and I am a Licensed Aesthetician and Acne Specialist in Phoenix, Arizona. My desire to be an Aesthetician came from my personal experience with acne and my passion to help others with their skin. Being an Aesthetician has always been my destiny. Even as a little girl, I was giving my mom facials like a mini skincare prodigy.
My skin journey began at 10 years old when I developed acne. This was such a hard time for me. I felt like my body was against me. I tried all the over-the-counter skin care products, had countless visits to the Dermatologist’s office, was put on medications and topicals, just for none of it to work. Finally, at the age of 13, I started taking Accutane. If you know Accutane, you know how intense of a drug it is. After only being able to take it for a few months because of all the negative side effects I encountered, my acne finally cleared up… until I went to Aesthetician school, I know, how ironic. This was the true turning point in my skincare journey and the moment when I realized that having acne was a blessing in disguise. What was the blessing? The blessing was being able to experience one of the worst skin conditions and knowing firsthand every emotion that came with it. I feel that having acne gives me the ability to connect with my clients on a more personal level.
I created Jaclyn Kylie Skincare with the purpose to treat problematic skin, restore confidence, educate, and help people reach their skin goals. I find it so rewarding to work with people on their skin goals and see their confidence come back to life. Jaclyn Kylie Skincare isn’t just about kicking acne to the curb. I’m your number-one cheerleader for all things skin. Whether you have a skin condition you want to correct, you want to enhance your skincare game, or you just want to maintain your skin’s health, Jaclyn Kylie Skincare is the place to BEE!

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
While training and knowledge are crucial for running a successful business, I believe that sharing your story and building a connection with your clients or customers is even more vital. Over the past five years of operating Jaclyn Kylie Skincare, I’ve discovered that clients come to see me because they relate to my personal journey with skin issues. They know I struggled with acne and experienced the same challenges they have faced. This connection offers them relief and hope, knowing there is a solution for their skin concerns.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
In every industry, there are businesses driven solely by profit, without making an effort to connect with their customers. In the beauty industry, we strive to connect with our clients because our mission is to make a meaningful difference. I believe my passion for skincare has been instrumental in building my reputation within the beauty industry. My goal is to heal and restore confidence in each of my clients. One way I get this across to people is through social media by sharing personal stories of my skin journey and even some of my clients (with their permission of course)!
