We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jaclyn Passaro. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jaclyn below.
Jaclyn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’ve done is co-create a spoof sketch show with my friend/fellow comedian, Stephanie Tejada. It’s a parody talk show; we’ve been described as female live action Beavis & Butthead! Our show is currently on OFTV! During the pandemic, Stephanie and I decided to put our two sketch characters Ratchetta and Angie together, and make them a duo! We couldn’t do live performances so we enhanced our sketch comedy/writing muscles. It’s fun to play ridiculous characters, because we have more creative freedom! It’s special to me, because we’ve been developing the characters, and show for years now!
Jaclyn, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am in the entertainment business! I create comedic content, and do stand up comedy. My brand has been described as dark with a warm touch, My sponsors are usually those who sell merchandise targeted at horror movie, and true crime fans. I’m most of proud of the fact that I’m building a loyal fanbase who truly enjoys my humor! My brand is very raw, and unapologetic, You are either going to love it, or absolutely hate it!
Have you ever had to pivot?
We connected when we we’re filming a sketch, and then we had to share a hotel room when we were filming a special for We Own The Laughs.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Yes, the movie the Secret! I didn’t know about the law of attraction, and manifesting until a few years in; it’s definitely effective!
