We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jaclyn Foote a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jaclyn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Starting my own business has been both the hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I love being my own boss, but the reality is I’m a one woman show. I had to learn ALL THE THINGS business related while trying to create, promote and build a customer base. It takes self discipline, grit, determination, patience, persistence and time.
There are constant struggles, lessons learned and obstacles to face but at the end of the day it has only made me stronger. I can honestly say not a day has gone by that I’ve wanted to return to a 9-5. I wake up every morning excited to start work and make a living doing what I love!

Jaclyn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hey there! I’m Jaclyn Foote, owner, designer and creator at Parker Grove Lane. I offer laser cut and engraved items, specializing in business and event decor.
My laser engraving business officially began in 2021 however, I have been a creative for as long as I can remember. I learned to sew at a young age and had so much fun taking trips to the local craft store to pick out just the right fabric combinations. Over time I began sewing and embroidering gifts for friends and family. It was so rewarding seeing others find joy in something I created. Eventually I decided to turn my side hustle and passion for creating into my full time job and I haven’t looked back since.
As an artist, I truly enjoy challenging myself to think outside the box. I love to create unique designs and stay ahead of industry trends. Often times repeat clients will choose to give me full creative freedom because they trust my vision and interpretation of their project.
Something I am very proud of is my community outreach. I have fostered great relationships with other local business, both small independently owned and big corporations. I am looking forward to continuing to grow my brand and create more keepsake products for my clients.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
This is an easy one! Customer service and attention to detail have certainly set me apart in this industry. So many of my orders are referral based and I believe that is due to the quality of my work. I also like to think I’m a fun to work with on projects offering humor, design alternatives and unique ideas.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative is seeing people enjoy my work. Often times my products are part of a family’s cherished memories. Whether it’s for a party, business, holiday, arrival of a new baby or to celebrate someone special, Parker Grove Lane products always add that special touch .
