We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jacky Macias. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jacky below.
Jacky, appreciate you joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
I am everything I am, ALL thanks to my wonderful mom! Growing up in a single-parent household has truly shaped who I am today.
Long before the term “Girl Boss” existed, my mom was just that. I vividly remember the days I would be sick at home my mom would allow me to dial into her business calls; so long as I could promise to remain on mute.
By listening to my mom’s conference calls and sales calls I was able to learn so much. My mom laughs back at this memory because she remembers I would call her back with ways to improve the sales or by offering a different sales tactic. I was merely 10 years old.
Jacky, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ll start by saying I have extremely sensitive skin! Jaques Skin is the product of a girl who could not seem to find a skincare line that was both effective and gentle enough to offer the results she was looking for. I’m Jaqueline Macias, the founder of Jaques Skin and Co-Founder of Aesthetic MdR Plastic Surgery + MedSpa.
Aesthetic MdR Plastic Surgery+MedSpa was founded by my husband, Dr. Luis Macias, and myself in 2016. When we opened our office, I knew we needed to carry quality skincare, that is how Jaques Skin came about.
Jaques Skin is much more than just a quintessential luxury skincare line. We have collaborated with our Certified Aestheticians to offer custom facials and Chemical peels that have been formulated to offer the TRUE Jaques Skin Glow!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn thinking that discomfort isn’t normal. I have come to realize that it is through uncomfortable conversations and situations that you learn the most. Being uncomfortable allows you to seek within and question what your intentions are, it is a great moment to allow yourself to reflect along the road.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
the good ol’ word of mouth has been a fabulous way but social media of course, never fails!
