Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jacky Costello. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jacky thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
In my line of work, valuable lessons often emerge from unexpected corners. For me, the most profound lessons in my professional journey stemmed from owning a cleaning business for over a decade. When I started in the cleaning industry, I was determined to be successful. Little did I know the lessons and challenges that I was going to encounter. From managing operations to ensuring client satisfaction – everything felt like an uphill climb.
Through the business I learned to be resilient. Dealing with unexpected issues, managing diverse client needs, and overcoming obstacles fostered a robust ability in me to adapt and bounce back from setbacks. With that, client satisfaction became my top priority. Every complaint, feedback, or commendation was a lesson. Understanding clients’ needs and going the extra mile helped solidify our reputation in the immediate area and beyond.
In addition, managing a team of cleaners introduced me to the nuances of leadership. Fostering teamwork, guiding employees, and ensuring everyone was aligned with the business’ vision shaped my approach to leadership and helped Custom Cleanups become what it is today.
Managing these challenges also showed me the importance of strategy and adaptability. Constantly evolving in a competitive market, keeping up with industry trends, and innovating services became instrumental. All of these things taught me valuable lessons that were more than just “how to run a cleaning business.” The experiences honed my problem-solving skills, ingrained resilience, and cultivated a customer-centric mindset – all indispensable assets in any professional career.Reflecting on all of those years, I realize the profound impact it had on my growth as a professional. The lessons learned transcend just the cleaning business, and they serve as guiding principles in my broader professional journey. Every job holds hidden treasures of wisdom.
