We were lucky to catch up with Jackson Monks recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jackson thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
Having people always in your corner to help you get to the next level is something that is important. Your friends and family are great resources who will help you when you need them to. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help. I promise it helps out in the long run!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
For those of you who don’t know me, I create content on YouTube specially within the arts of cinema, more specially the horror genre. I create videos discussing films, movies reviews, and unboxings. I often do livestreams where communicate with my audience to build that relationship with my fans and supporters to show that I am not above them. I will give updates to the channel, what’s coming soon, have interviews with other creators, and etc. I am very involved within the horror community trying to spread my channel and brand across the states and even parts of the world. One thing that I am very proud of is the amount of support and love I get from my subscribers. They show up to every stream, video, shorts, etc and always show love. I am also proud of the strong relationships I’ve built with people in the film community. Talking with directors and other context creators who I have supported even before the channel, is such a crazy feeling. For any future clients, I always will show support to your products and brand when talking about them. What sets my brand apart from other context creators is the chill/family feel vibes when someone joins the channel and subscribes. I always make sure they feel involved with the channel the best I possibly can. We are a huge community and I’m excited to keep growing!
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
One way I keep in touch with clients is to always make sure that their voice is heard. I will get asked questions often on my livestreams and I answer every single one because it makes each person feel heard. A lot of other people who also create content doesn’t always give their audience the same treatment, so I try to always make sure that they feel the “family” vibe whenever they show up. Another thing is that all of my supporters are positive to me but to other supporters of the channel. They always connect with each other. I’m huge on helping other people out so I’m glad it’s affected my audience to do the same thing.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience originally on instagram by posting various things that then horror community would be into. That then eventually made me want to do YouTube and publish videos. Luckily, I was able to have some sort of following on YouTube and it ended up growing more than my Instagram did. With doing more content with other creators and voicing my opinion on topics that people wanted me to talk about, the community had gravitated towards my channel. I’m so blessed to talk with so many passionate fans and work with so many different creators who brings something different to the table each time. I am very proud of the community I have.
