We recently connected with Jackson Beasley and have shared our conversation below.
Jackson, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Our newest single, “Sunshine in the Rain”, was actually written back in 2014. We released the song on our 2015 EP “Here We Go Again’ but always thought we might give it another shot in the future with different production. The original version of the song was very stripped down with only 2 guitars, 2 voices, and a harmonica. We started performing the song live and trying out different things until we found something we were happy with performing with the full band. Seven years later we finally decided it was time to revisit one of our favorite songs we’ve written over the years. Our new version of “Sunshine in the Rain” was released November 11.
The song captures the feeling of wanting to be there for someone through the trials and storms of life because they were always there for you. Our last few singles were definitely more on the pop-country side, but this song takes us back to our country/folk roots based on brotherly harmonies.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
The Beasley Brothers are a country duo based out of Nashville, TN. Showcasing their unique ability to wrap heartfelt stories in familial harmonies, catchy melodies, and tasteful guitar work, the band works tirelessly to win over fans in the southeast and beyond. Lawson and Jackson Beasley, along with their band, started carving out their place in the country/rock music scene in 2015 when they scored their first large music festival slot and opened for the iconic rock band, Kansas. They went on to sell out their first show in Huntsville later in 2015.
Since then, they have used that momentum to draw nearly 600 fans to their headlining shows, which are exclusively organized and promoted by the band themselves. Drawing from classic influences such as The Beatles and Eagles fused with the modern influences of Nashville, the group has found a sound that is signature to them. The Beasley Brothers have released three EP’s and 7 singles of their own, and are gearing up to release a new wave of music drawing from both their north Alabama soul and rock roots, as well as their country roots.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I think “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie is a great book for anyone in management or an entrepreneurial profession to read. There’s a lot of value in the small things mentioned in that book that have helped us cultivate lasting business relationships. We also have benefited a lot from CD Baby’s podcast and blog.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
For being an independent in the music business, CD Baby has a great podcast and blog that has addressed almost every question you could come across. Ari Herstand also has a book, podcast, and blog that are worth checking out. We have used these resources constantly throughout our music journey.
