We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jackie Pool. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jackie below.
Jackie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents have always taught me hard work, pays off. They were immigrants 27 years ago, but when they came to this country that’s all they knew, how to work. I’ve seen my mom overcome so many challenges, and she is now a business individual with multiple properties she leases homes for families and is making more than she ever imagined. The fact that they build their outcome starting from nothing but clothes on their back means anyone can do anything, but they have to put in the work and effort. My mom had a dream, a why, and once she got clear on her goals she executed and now she has what she has because of it. This has had a tremendous impact on how I work, and why I do what I do. It’s just not about making money is about making a difference in people’s lives and changing the perspective of the world one person at a time.
Jackie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
First of all, I like to start with the title BOY MOM, with that being said I work from home as a Certified Transformational Nutrition Coach and Weight Loss Coach. I help woman transform their relationship with food, build better habits, change mindsets around what weight loss means, and aid them in reaching their goals which for the most part is improving their overall lifestyle.
Nothing makes me happier than sitting weekly one-on-one with a person, we develop an intimate connection, and it is real, we dive into personal concerns, beliefs, and struggles they may be facing. What I love about these weekly coaching calls is the progress my moms, teachers, and women make over the time we work together. Their confidence at the end of the 3 months we worked together is amazing to see. To constantly hear that cravings are controlled that they are taking tags of clothes they had in their closets for years, or that they have finally been able to stay consistent and maintain discipline like never before. I mean I feel so fortunate to be able to experience this transformation with them and I love what I do; it’s more than a job for me it’s my purpose
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Last year, in June 2023, we had a major health surgery for my husband, and right after he was let go of his job. I was starting my business but I knew I had to keep pursuing what I was doing so we had to let go of our new home that we had moved in and lived in for a year. We have lived a very minimal lifestyle since then but my business has picked up more this year and even though that happened and we felt like we made the right choice it was difficult to let go but the fact that we keep moving forward has brought us to better situation financially and have learned so much from last year! It’s not easy not knowing what my month will look like but somehow we make it work every month.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I had to invest in my success. I listen to all the health podcasts, and read books like Eating Smarter but also books that talk about business and developing better habits like the compound effect, and atomic habits that will improve my coaching practice. I also invested in the Profitable Nutritionist Program and have learned through them as well. All this investment in myself so I can provided the best results to the that I get to work with
