Jackie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

My latest creation, ‘Amor Eterno,’ holds a special place amongst my projects. In my culture, we celebrate Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead; a beautiful tradition honoring our ancestors and those who have transitioned to the other side. I had never truly encountered the weight of death until the passing of my grandparents. Coping with their loss was a devastating challenge, and it was this painting that aided me in navigating the grieving process.

My name is Jackie, and I passionately pursue a range of creative outlets, delving into diverse mediums like photography, painting, and digital art. I take joy in conveying my emotions and thoughts through artistic expressions, crafting distinct pieces that mirror my inner universe. I’ve always been a creative being but didn’t really dive into my creative journey until 2020. After battling my inner critic and imposter syndrome, I decided to finally pursue my dream as a full-time artist.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

As an artist, there’s no greater sense of fulfillment than witnessing your art touch someone’s soul. The ability to stir people intellectually or emotionally through your creations is such a rewarding feeling. It’s an affirmation that your work transcends mere aesthetics and connects with the human experience on a profound level, fostering understanding, empathy, and a shared sense of humanity. This ability to spark thought and emotion in others, to touch their hearts and minds, is the true essence of artistry, making it a remarkable journey.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

Through my art, I strive to create connections with individuals, attempting to cultivate a sense of unity and shared human experience. Beyond this, I aim to inspire one’s spiritual journey of self-discovery and transformation. I believe that art possesses the power to inspire introspection and growth, serving as a guiding light on the path to self-realization. My creative endeavors are dedicated to healing, connecting, and spiritually empowering individuals on their transformative journeys.
