Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jackie Langley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jackie, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I dedicated 18 years guiding and inspiring young people as a music teacher in both Maryland and Pennsylvania throughout the years. As a music teacher, I’ve built a legacy rooted in helping students discover and appreciate the art of choral music, equipping them with skills and values that transcend the classroom. In 2016 and 2023, I received the honor to be named a Quarter Finalist for the Grammy Foundation’s Music Educator Award.
In my new journey in real estate, I have the opportunity to extend that legacy by helping families and individuals find homes where they’ll create their own lasting memories. Transitioning post-maternity leave, particularly during a time when education and society at large have faced significant changes in the education system as a whole. My resilience and adaptability are qualities that inspire both in the classroom and beyond.
Ultimately, my legacy may be one of adaptability, dedication, and a commitment to enriching lives, whether through music or homeownership. People will likely remember me for my kindness, the sense of stability and inspiration that I have brought to their lives, and the drive to support people on their journeys.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those meeting me for the first time, I’m Jackie Langley. I’ve dedicated the past 18 years to music education, a truly rewarding journey. I hold a Bachelor’s in Music Education with a focus on both Instrumental and Vocal Education from The Catholic University of America, along with a Master’s in Music Technology from West Chester University. Teaching music has always meant more to me than just notes on a page—it’s been about inspiring creativity, building discipline, and nurturing confidence in young people.
After my third child was born, I felt called to expand my career into real estate. Now, I’m excited to work as a dual-career agent with the Tallon Olenik Team at Keller Williams, bringing the same dedication and purpose to my clients.
In real estate, my mission is to provide a seamless, informative experience tailored to each client’s needs. I specialize in helping families and individuals find homes that match their lifestyles, and I work closely with sellers to ensure their homes shine. Problem-solving is central to what I do, whether it’s navigating complex markets or supporting clients during significant life changes. With a background in education, I’m here to inform and empower my clients at every step.
I’m incredibly proud of the relationships I’ve built and the trust my clients place in me. After my second year in real estate, I closed over $3 million in sales, and I’m committed to keeping this momentum. For anyone looking to buy, sell, or simply learn about the market, I’m here as a resource and advocate.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by creating weekly video reels that spotlight local businesses. This approach allows people to get a sense of who I am while also showcasing businesses that I genuinely love and support. It’s a great way to connect with the community and build trust by adding value.
For those just starting on social media, my advice is to find a niche that resonates with both you and your audience. Consistency is key, so make it a priority to post regularly—whether it’s highlighting local businesses, sharing tips, or providing insights. Most importantly, keep your content authentic and engaging, as people appreciate honesty and enthusiasm!

Have you ever had to pivot?
During maternity leave with my third child, I felt a strong desire to pivot my career into real estate—a major leap that came with both excitement and uncertainty. Teaching had been my career for years, so this was a huge shift. But my motivation to provide a better life for my family, while also being more present as my kids grow up, fueled my decision.
Taking this step wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my husband and children, who have been incredibly understanding and encouraging through this transition. Their belief in me gave me the confidence to pursue a career in real estate, even while managing the demands of family life. Balancing two careers is challenging, but the reward of being able to create meaningful opportunities for my family and clients makes it all worthwhile.
