We recently connected with Jackie Dalius and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jackie, thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To me the meaning to being successful means to be doing something that you love. When you’re doing something that you love you put in so much extra work, which ultimately opens up more doors for yourself. This love for your work, creates happiness that is shown through your projects and your team’s success. There’s nothing like having a successful team built on passion. I’m grateful to be working with my family on my app, MuzicSwipe. There’s no one you can trust more than your family and to have them there for the journey creates so much more love for my company.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jackie Dalius and I am the Founder & CEO of MuzicSwipe, an application that centers around new music and artist discovery. It’s like Tinder meets Spotify, through swiping on new music and matching with the artists and building deeper connections from a fan to artist perspective! I grew up loving music since the day I was born. I knew I wanted to pursue some type of career within the music industry. My love of rising artists from young age, inspired me to start diving into projects to work with such talent at the age of 17. From 17 to now 26, I have been working hard on a certain mission, and that is giving exposure to rising artists/talent. I am very proud of the work my company has done in changing the lives of rising artists and I’m excited to see where it continues to go within the music industry.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
As a Founder & CEO of an application, our clients are our users. Our users are everything to us, their feedback provides us with ideas of what to pivot away from and what new developments need to be made to fulfill their needs. We look at everything when it comes to our users, like looking over emails, social media comments, DMs, etc. We foster brand loyalty by staying on top of our users feedback and giving them what they want when it comes to a brand. We host lots of fun experiences and events, that we can build our brand loyalty in person too. At MuzicSwipe, we really try our best to fulfill what our consumers needs and wants are in the marketplace.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One thing I have learned about life and business is that the most common thing in life is change. Change is constant, so learning and accepting that early on will only benefit you later in life. A time I had to pivot in business was about 1 year ago, MuzicSwipe wanted to grow our team very fast. However, our goals as an executive team were not being met through the new growth in the team. The hard, but necessary decision was to pivot and cut back the team. Sometimes in your career, you have to step back to get ahead. This was an example of getting ahead, and truthfully, it was one of the best business decisions I have helped make when it comes to the success of my company.
