We recently connected with Jackie & Cara Rideau & Randolph and have shared our conversation below.

Jackie & Cara , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

D.N.D., Do Not Disturb LLC started as a simple idea that came to us while seating on a couch on a Sunday Morning after church. That same day, we prayed and after the prayer we started formulating a business plan to bring D.N.D. to life! Our first question was, what are we bringing to life? What is the name of the business that represents what we were founded on? The idea was to create a faith based apparel company that embodies the notion of being unbothered in your walk with Jesus Christ, and moving in a way the give DO.NOT.DISTURB. Thus, D.N.D., Do.Not.Disturb LLC was born!

Our next steps included creating apparel designs that fit our vision mission for the brand while scotting locations for a homebase. We moved onto turning our idea into an LLC. We found a few local and non-local vendors that provided us with a lot of the necessary things to bring our t-shirt designs to reality! Next, we collected the needed equipment to start pressing the appearl and setting up our website for sales. We ran test trials
with different equipment and printing techniques to see what will best suit the quality that we were looking for, for D.N.D.. Throughout this entire process we researched any and everything to make sure that were making the right selections for the business.

After all of this was formulated, we decided that the best route to take for marketing would be social media. We proceeded to set up our Instagram, TicTock, and TicTock shop accounts while trying to think of creative ways to create content. We started to shot content videos while fulfilling our first orders, and that officially brought D.N.D Do.Not.Disturb LLC to fruition!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

D.N.D., Do Not Disturb LLC is a Houston faith based apparel company. We specialize in creating unique apparel that spreads the messages given by God to be shared to impact and encourage others. We love to think that our clothing is relatable to everyone no matter where they are in their spiritual walk with Christ. Our brand also allows people to share their own personal testimony through various types of fully customizable apparel. Through D.N.D, we are able to disciple and uplift God’s people by spreading the Good News. D.N.D is more than a catchy simple phrase or acronym. D.N.D. is about not letting anything negative disturb your journey with Christ while always choosing God’s mission vision above your own.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

Cara and I (Jackie) met at the end of 2015 at Panera Bread. She was a training manager that transferred from another location to the location where I was employed. On the first day, Cara was very quiet and wasn’t much of a conversationalist but I thought of it as a challenge! I knew that we would be good friends without a doubt but I just had to get her to warm up a bit. She states that I bugged her until she gave in but I think I was just very persistent in making my presence known. Overtime, Cara took me under her wing, and we developed a strong bond that flourished into a sisterhood and now business partnership.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

The process of D.N.D has had many challenges when it comes to time, finances, and marketing. Initially, we went into the apperal business thinking, how hard can it be? However, we quickly realized that getting any business off of the ground is going to take time and patience. You are learning where you fit into an already thriving market, how much time it takes to run a successful business, and the ins and outs of what it takes to create a quality product. In our journey with D.N.D., the most important thing that we have learned is if you stay focus on the mission that God has ordained in your brand you will always have everything you need to make it to the next level. Will all progress be instant, no. However, you can not water a seed and get upset at the pace of its growth.
