We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jacki Jing a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jacki, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I came up with my business idea when I didn’t have a job and I needed one! Someone I worked with in the past reached out and hired me freelance as a host and then I realized that maybe more people would be interested in hiring me and I reached out to other contacts and a business evolved from there.

Jacki, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been an entertainment/anime/gaming/esports desk and stage host for years, one of the main hosts for E3 in 2021, which was streamed across the globe to 2 million viewers, and worked major events for Riot Games (Valorant) and Ubisoft (Rainbow Six Siege). I’ve also hosted with Amazon, Mastercard, Reddit, Redbull, Playstation, Sega, AMC, IGN, Nerdist, Enthusiast/Luminosity Gaming, Razer, AMD, Intel Gaming, WSDM gaming, Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Anime News Network.
The Emmy-nominated TV journalist has also hosted several live red carpets and conducted dozens of celebrity interviews for AAA feature films. The former TV news reporter also covered a wide range of stories, reporting live for ABC News on Robert Durst’s legal battle in New Orleans. I was also interviewed by ESPN about the Saints ownership. I reported live for FOX News about the mass shooting at Binghamton’s American Civic Association. I also won an AP Award for her coverage of the Basketball Hall of Fame Ceremony in 2010. In 2014, I was nominated for a Suncoast Regional Emmy for her piece on the tragic death of Takita Mathieu.
Jacki recently started chasing her lifelong dream of acting and has already worked on several web series and commercials with Nintendo, Under Armour, Freshly, and Good Chop. I have trained with Spieser Sturges Acting School, BGB Studio, Adventures in Voice Acting, Danielle Eskinazi, and completed private lessons with Sara Sherman, Brandon Thomas, and Chris Hackney.
During her free time, Jacki likes to stream video games, work out, play volleyball, read and write, make music with her synthesizer, and watch anime & action flicks. Frequently asked about her height, Jacki stands at 6’2″ and has a 6’4″ wingspan.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I have a great team that helps me with outreach. Misael Duran has helped me with organization and emails (hire him, he’s awesome!)
Do you have any stories of times when you almost missed payroll or any other near death experiences for your business?
No death moments for the business, but being a manager is really hard. I thought it would be easy, but learning how to effectively work with people and be a true leader is MUCH harder than you’d think.
