We were lucky to catch up with Jabrina Speaks recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jabrina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I love this question. As a small child, you don’t understand the importance of having a mother and father. Your expectation is for your childhood to be fun with no rules, but then one day you see the necessities of having parents. Don’t get me wrong I had a well-balanced childhood but my parents believed that training up a child the correct way was important for their adult life. My mother and father were not just parents but they were investors. They taught me love, understanding, teamwork, investments, self-love, discipline, communication, and what true parenthood was. They both showed my siblings and me what it took to be trailblazers in our time. It was their duty to see our visions even as children manifest. I remember at the tender age of 10 I wanted to have a candy store and my dad and mom made it happen. From the supplies to products to even the cost and revenue was important for me to learn. My mom and dad were both business owners so I saw the hard work and what it took to keep the business going. I always say “God, gave me the best parents”. Though my dad passed away in 2015 my mom still invests in my businesses today. There’s never a time I can’t call her for a helping hand. I was very blessed to have Henry and Regina Thompson as parents because without them there would be no Jabrina Speaks LLC and the many other gifts God has given me to flourish.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Jabrina Thompson is an Educator, Mentor, Visionary, Author, and Friend. As a Broward County, Fl. native she reminds herself daily “I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me” Philippians 4:13. Jabrina grew a passion for empowering, inspiring, and mentoring our youth back in 2010. Observing “a silent cry” because of unspoken conversations among our young people, her passion grew and she birthed one of her first visions: a nonprofit 501c3 mentoring program for girls ages 8 to 18 years old. She titled it R.O.Y.A.L.T.Y. Inc. Mentoring Program—an acronym for Recognizing Our Youth’s Ability to Lead Throughout Their Years. After years of mentoring and guiding youth, Jabrina began to connect and inspire adults as well. She challenges them to break the cycle of fear and discover their full potential. Through speaking engagements, creating events, hosting as a Mistress of Ceremonies, and helping individuals birth their visions, she combined her passions and birthed “Jabrina Speaks”. Come grow and learn from Jabrina Thompson, now known as Jabrina Speaks, as she continues to connect and inspire men, women, and the next generation. My most proud moments are when my clients birth their visions, when my book reminds someone it’s never too late to restart and when a customer is pleased with my hosting.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe my consistency, serving others, and believing in and loving my brand build my reputation. You have to believe in yourself before anyone else does. Moreover, exhibiting consistency provides a positive outcome with brand building and reputation.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
This is a funny question for me because without knowing I was building my audience, I was building my audience. I used my hashtags for following, I placed my logo on the pictures that I posted, I wore apparel with my logo and brand name. Again, consistency is KEY! I also did live shows and opened up different social media platforms.
