Jabren, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

When I was in school I wrote my first movie script at age 14. I wrote it because 1) I loved the art of writing and creating stories for people to get lost in. The second reason is because I could escape my own mind and enter into a reality where I could make the rules. I didn’t have a lot of friends in school so I would write characters that I would want to hang out with. This passion of writing eventually led its way into video creation and I’ve never looked back since.

Jabren, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Currently I am a digital creator and music critic. I sort of fell into this avenue of content creation because during the height of Covid-19 I spent most of my time at record stores and at home like everyone else. I downloaded TikTok as a joke, “for the memes”, my friend Jayce said. However I fell in love with creating videos that didn’t require the same attention as YouTube so I kept growing as a creator and sharing music that I loved and music that told stories.

One of the things I am most proud of is working with Rooster Teeth and Warner Bros. Discovery on an unscripted video celebrating Warner’s 100 year anniversary.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My ultimate goal with music is to get to a place where I can be a music supervisor or conductor to score music for films. In another way I would love to have all the music in the movie to be made by the talented musicians I’ve met along the way on my TikTok journey.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

Personally, the greatest joy I have is giving back to the community that helped get me to where I am.
