Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Izzy Rosas . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Izzy, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
One of the biggest trends I’m seeing in my industry at the moment is the “natural look”. In general the beauty industry after 2020 started shifting to natural. From cosmetics to skincare and what I specialize in eyelash extensions! There’s a request for more natural looks including the color of eyelash extensions. I personally love this new trend but I think this definitely brings some challenges to eyelash extension brands especially new and small brands. During and after the shut down the usage of color makeup slowed down and TikTok really took off. Because of that I believe that eyelash extensions also took off even more. So, as we go through this new world were we are constantly on our phones. We see our skin, brows, symmetry of the face and lashes on a daily or consistent basis through social media on our phone with selfies and videos. I believe this is why the beauty industry will continue to grow including eyelash extensions and natural eyelash extensions are the new mascara look! Including brown color. Not only brown eyelash extensions but brown mascara is making a come back too.

Izzy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an Esthetician Specialized in natural eyelash extensions. I’ve been in the beauty industry since High School. I was really fortunate to attend a high school that allowed me to go to a Cosmetology school during my senior year. It was during this program that I discovered about Esthetics because at the time there wasn’t many school programs offering Esthetics but I knew cutting hair wasn’t for me. After graduating from Saint Paul Technical and Community College I moved to California to attend makeup artistry program,
I’ve been a fanatic of the beauty industry and just wanted to find my passion within it. I’ve had a crazy but amazing journey in the beauty industry and got to work for different makeup brands and salons and today I work for myself in my own Salon Suite space currently with Sola Salons.
I truly believe every beauty job I took before becoming self-employed including jobs not related to the beauty industry were the key to my discipline on becoming self employed, including my admiration for my parents work ethic. Once you work for yourself, it becomes really easy to do things very slow but disciplines keeps you on check.
Today, I get to focus on what I love most which is natural style in the eyelash industry. Most of my clients find it hard to find someone that will offer a natural style to which I solve that problem for them.
I see great opportunities in the future with helping other beauty professionals due to my years in cosmetic retail sales, client customer service in salon and retail but most important how I managed to go solo as an Esthetician and got booked within the first 6-8 months having to raise my prices almost immediately. I truly believe my curiosity in digital marketing is what truly helped me get my salon awareness when I became a solo esthetician. Having that self taught knowledge really helped me.
I would say that’s probably what I’m most proud of.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I truly believe the audience I built on social media has been by two things: 1 Consistency and 2. Education. No matter what when I post I think of my clients first. I know who I’m talking to. I also love to post cute eye catchy content but I make sure it remains within my salon brand and it’s educating my client or potential client even if it’s an entertaining content. I other words, I post for them not for me.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
What I have found an effective strategy for growing a clientele is consistency! When I say consistency I’m talking about 360 including with how I treat my clients. From the second they book, to the time they I spend on every appointment. The consistency is the same. My clients know I tend to have a set schedule, they know exactly how long their appointments will last. They know I’ll be ready and on time for their appointment, the work I perform on them remains consistent unless they request other wise and social media is the same.
I’ve gotten plenty of my clients telling me they love that they can trust me not only for my work but for the consistency
in professionalism to which in return has given me a very loyal clientele.
