We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Izzy Polzin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Izzy, thanks for joining us today. Any advice for creating a more inclusive workplace?
As someone who cannot sit still and does not like being touched. I hate getting my hair cut, it sucks. It never looks how I want and I leave feeling worse than I showed up. Turns out a lot of people have the same discomforts I do during the process of a professional haircut. I figured if the general population all suffer the same monthly fear of a trim. Then I could be the outlier to curate a safe and inclusive environment that invites clients and gives them the custom haircut they ask for. I own a small business called Quite Perfect Hare where I focus on hair artistry and custom hair cuts. My studio is designed for one on one haircuts creating a calm atmosphere and allowing people to relax during the collective creative process! I designed my ideal hair care experience to share with my community to get people looking and feeling those absolute best!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Quite Perfect Hare, a name that can draw your ear and a logo that can catch your eye! Beyond that it’s all up to the artist in the studio, that’s me Izzy Polzin! I am a hair stylist who has a passion for the barbering craft. I focusing on; hair shoulder length and above, clipper cuts, fades, beard sculpting, pixies cuts, mullets. I strive to make your hair vision a reality. I built my private studio around a year ago based on the concept of comfort, accessibility and inclusion! Each haircut is designed through a one on one consultation where we focus on where your hair is and how you want it to be. This involves the cut as well as hair care tips and tricks. The service I provide should be both fabulous in execution and educational to the future of your hair care! I have a true love for my career and want to share both my skills and knowledge on hair with my community!
Though hair is viewed by most as an after thought, I believe that a good haircut gives the self expression one needs to live life confident!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Reputation is built on the foundation of your clientele’s experience. I hold myself to a high standard so my clients can relax and feel comfortable throughout their service. By upholding a tidy atmosphere, and executing a hair cut with precision and confidence. I am able to grow Quite Perfect Hare on the reputation of loyalty and respect. Through my clients, I have been able to gain confidence in my skill to continually get better at my craft! My reputation is built directly on my clients experience meaning it’s my job to make sure they receive the best possible service.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
You can watch people cut hair online and grow a virtual reputation but that only gets you likes on a screen. The best way I’ve learned to bring in new revenue is clients recommendations. Each haircut is an art piece that my clients are living their daily lives with. People see my artwork constantly and my clients are often asked where they came about their new fabulous fade. All they have to say is “Izzy, at Quite Perfect Hare!” Tah duh, the rest is up to them. I never trying to force someone to get a haircut just giving them the option for when their are ready! I love my job and truly put my passion into my craft, the more people I can get looking dapper the more my business will grow in success!
