Izack , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?

It didn’t start in a boardroom. It didn’t start with a pitch deck, or a venture capitalist’s handshake.
It started in a glass house, with two tiny creatures who didn’t yet know how vast they would become in my life.

They were just cats. Or so the world would call them. But to me, they were more — companions, quiet witnesses to my unspoken battles.

People would come by, drawn by the art that filled my walls. They’d stand in my home, marveling at the pieces I’d made. Then they’d see them — my cats.

“What breed are these?” someone once asked. And I couldn’t remember. My mind, lost in art and ambition, went blank.

Hours later, the shame hit me. **“How could you forget their name? The name of your own kids?”** Because that’s what they were to me. Not pets. Family.

That night, I promised myself: **Never again.**

So I named them in a way I could never forget. **Maincoon.**

It started as a vow — to always remember what mattered.

But from there, it grew.

I thought my identity was the cats alone. So I began designing — clothing with paw prints, feline marks, trying to stitch that promise into fabric.

But the world didn’t see what I saw. Some even twisted it, cruelly reading “Maincoon” as something dark, something racist, something it was never meant to be — not realizing I was Black myself.

It cut deeper than they could know.

So I stayed up through countless nights, chasing a meaning that couldn’t be corrupted by misunderstanding.

That’s when I decided to transform it. To honor the spirit but rise above the smallness of how others chose to see.

The double O became the infinity symbol. **Maincoon Infinity.** A rebirth. A promise elevated.

But even infinity felt small. Used by too many. Diluted by brands who didn’t believe in anything beyond the next sale.

I didn’t want to sell lies. I didn’t want to stand behind a story that even I couldn’t fully believe.

So I kept searching.

Then one night — the kind where your mind won’t let you rest until it finds something that feels truly right — it came to me.

**The universe.**

I saw it differently. How the “C” in Maincoon curved like a crescent moon. How the double O’s were planets, quietly waiting to orbit around their destiny.

It was as if the name had always been cosmic. It just needed me to stay awake long enough to see it.

That’s how we became not just Maincoon, not just Infinity —

**But the Maincoon Infinity Universe.**

A brand that didn’t start from Google searches or AI prompts. It started from something raw and human. From promises whispered to two small companions in a glass house.

From mistakes, from being misunderstood, from the refusal to sleep until I found something that was real — something that could never be twisted, something that would always hold the weight of my truth.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

The greatest thing I ever had to unlearn was how this world told me to build.
They gave me a blueprint:
follow trends, copy what’s safe,
believe no brand could ever mean more
than what’s already been done.

But I couldn’t accept that.
I refused to believe the universe would give me this mind,
this vision, only to have me use it
to imitate someone else.

So I broke their rules.
I didn’t chase what they said would sell.
I didn’t twist dreams to manipulate people.
I didn’t borrow meaning — I created my own.

And in doing that, everything came together in a way
no industry formula ever could.

I learned that true power isn’t in repeating history.
It’s in daring to write a story
that only you could have written.
A story that, one day, makes someone else remember
they were born to do the same.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

The biggest pivot of my life was realizing I couldn’t build this brand by following the world’s map.

I started off thinking I had to — using cat prints on shirts, thinking that was my identity.
But it didn’t feel like me. It felt small.

So I pivoted.
I threw away the entire blueprint, stopped caring about what the industry called “fashion,” and started chasing something timeless.

That’s how Maincoon Infinity became a universe instead of just a brand.

It was the scariest move I ever made — to abandon every proven formula.
But it’s also the reason we exist now as something beyond trends, beyond seasons, beyond even this lifetime.

That pivot is what turned my dream into a living cosmos.
