We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Iwona Golińska a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Iwona , appreciate you joining us today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?

I start my career as a painter by coincidence. As far as I remember I used to be a dancer so I met a lot of people doing sport. After I stop dancing I start to be an architect, because I always wanted to. One day my friend, who is also a dancer ask me to go with her for some art exhibition of the person she knows. I met there a lot of people and also the painter, who was an owner of all paintings there. After 2 weeks my friend told me, that the painter asked about me. Painter told her that she feels that I have good energy and she wants to invite me to painting workshop that she leads. I was really surprised because in the bottom of my heart I always dreamed about it. That day my painting journey has started. After first painting classes she told me that I have big talent and started to push me to prepare my own exhibition. Two years later, after quite hard time for me I finally did it. So the secret was meeting the stranger, who believes in me more than I did. Now I paint not only because I love it but I also take part in some bigger projects because of that. I met a lot of artist and we do great things together. I also cooperate with other architects and prepare paintings matching to the interior. Everything happened by coincidence but I know it will stay with me for ever. The same as Magda – the painter I met few years ago, and thank to her my life has changed. The stranger, who believe in me more than I did. I wish everyone will meet such a person in their life, who will bring a lot of light and faith to their lifes.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I’m very multitasking person, but everything in my life is connected. I used to be a dancer, when I was a child. When I stop to dance, my artistic soul feels empty inside. Then I realize that I always wanted to design interiors, so I start another studies connected with architecture and design. The day after I finish studies I start to work with one of the most famous designer in Poland – Dorota Szelągowska, who leads her own TV programme. I start to work with her and I was a Director of her Studio of design. I was leading a big part of her company with great success. After pandemic times I start to lead my own interior company and start to work with other interpreneuers also. Then I met Magda – painter, who believe in my talent and because of her I start to paint and take part in many meaningful artistic projects. So now I have my own brand – New Vision. It combines interior design, paintings and dresses designing. It’s going to be more but I don’t want to say until I do.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me the best thing of being an artist is that I have really open heart and I can see more in my everyday life. It means that because of this I’m more creative in everything I do and I’m also more positive than other people. I’m sensitive person and very good at observation so it give me a more knowledge than anything else. At the same time my job gives me also a lot of fun. I’m so grateful that I have a possibility to meet a lot of people, who are interested in art, beautiful things and have a lot of positive attitude.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

The first and most important thing is that I don’t have to be perfect in everything I do. It’s good to keep an eye on details but it’s not necessary to be an perfectionist. It wastes your time and climp your wings. The most important is to believe in yourself, keep moving forward and share your inner energy. Nobody will see small shortcomings, only you, so don’t let them steal your time, energy and faith. Do not think too much, just do it.
