We recently connected with Ivy Abrams and have shared our conversation below.
Ivy, appreciate you joining us today. How did you get into your field – what was your first job in this field?
I had been attracted to the spiritual realm my whole life, studying various topics on and off for years in addition to direct messages I was receiving. I thought this was just for my personal healing and growth. Near the end of a nine-month intensive study program, I was diagnosed with cancer. Soon after, my mother crossed over. One day she came through and gave me a business name then directed me to an office space for rent. I had never thought of renting an office or opening a practice and immediately rented the only space I looked at. Even the Suite number had meaning for me. The next day I met a young woman in a store, we began talking and she set up an appointment with me in my new space for a card reading and intuitive consultation. These types of meetings continued and along with referrals and now 5 years’ time, Mystical Soul Work was created.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, I’m Ivy Abrams, Intuitive Soul Coach and Shamanic Energy Healer of Mystical Soul Work. I started My business in 2017 in a Ferndale, Michigan office. 2 years later I went virtual and now am able to connect with people all over, in the comfort of their homes. In my coaching, I specialize in working with women, helping them find their authentic self and live their soul’s truth. Everything is energy and I guide my clients in ways to shift their own energy. What they learn are tools they can use throughout their lives. As we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change. So too, as we shift our energy, our vibration, we will notice the shifts we desire happening in all aspects of our lives.
My training includes group facilitation and several shamanic practices. Monthly I facilitate a Women’s Virtual Full Moon Ceremony. Here, each attendee has an opportunity to delve into where they want to be and what is in the way of obtaining that for them. In the ceremony, I incorporate a shamanic journey (guided meditation) where they are able to do that work. I also lead ceremony for private retreats and offer custom journeys for 1-1 clients. Some of the Shamanic Healing work I do is Chakra/Energy cleansing and balancing, soul retrieval and akashic record readings. Most clients still enjoy a card reading on its own or as part of their session. What has been truly rewarding includes a woman who did a virtual vision board class with me and one year later in a private session shared that she looked at the vision board daily and was no longer an alcoholic because of that. Another client told myself and another person, that I literally saved her life.
I am a compassionate witness for your pain, trauma, relationship struggles, illness, and healing. I am a mentor on your spiritual growth journey. However, it’s your active participation, where real change is made.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Two years after opening my office in downtown Ferndale, Michigan, across from a major store that attracted like-minded clients, they moved and Covid hit. I took a room in my home and created an office and sacred space to do my work virtually. My other workspace is in my backyard (weather permitting) and it’s a true bonus as nature is an integral part of the shamanic path. All beings are sacred and hold meaning. The trees, rocks, animals and so on.
In a sense, I had to rebuild my format, like many other professionals and see clients on Zoom. For me it’s truly been a gift as the connection is just as strong if not stronger and with little to no distractions. My belief is to look for the gift in any challenge.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe we are all students, and we are all teachers. My lifelong passion for continuing education has been helpful in my field. I have so many tools in my toolbox that it is often difficult to explain all of my services. For this reason, I prefer custom fit sessions. That is the training and knowledge part.
What else is really helpful is networking and supporting other people in similar fields. I will go to other practitioner’s events and purchase tools of the trade from people I meet. I have also co-facilitated events with others. Each client will resonate with a different practitioner and there is someone for everyone. I sometimes refer out if I feel a client is not a match or might need a different service than what I offer.
