Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ivin Huggan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ivin, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission for my company is allowing customers to have access to on demand hair professionals who will go to the customers no matter the place. Barbers and hair stylist on the go. For the hair professionals, creating a flexible, easy to use platform to show off their skills and build clientele no matter where they are.
Ivin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Our business, CutNet, is a mobile Hair Service platform that allows clients to have access to hair professionals no matter where they are. This makes things easy for customers who are trying to find the best barber or stylist without having to cross your fingers hoping that a hair professional doesn’t mess up their hair. It’s all about connecting and forming more of a personal relationship that can apply to any place at anytime.
What we are most proud of is being nominated for Top Technology in Las Vegas for our company.
We have connected with schools like Paul Mitchell where we let students be aware of the benefits of having their own online hair shop that let’s customers see what they can do before customers request a hair professional to go to their house, office space, hotel, etc.
I started this business idea back in 2019, when I was in college. I had a friend who went around campus cutting hair and I asked him if he’s able to cut my hair and once I was provided the service, I realized that people around the world should recieve this kind if service. Ever since it’s been growing nonstop. We were in two shark tank related competitions, graduated in a startup accelerator, making potential partnerships with sports teams, hair schools, and being on TV.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met my co-founder, Nicolas Laucella in college. We started to become really good friends before the business idea came to be. At first when I was telling him about it, he seemed skeptical, buy curious. When the pandemic started and I was still working on the company before I even launched it, we spoke over the phone catching up since we couldn’t see each other. When I told him how the business idea was doing, he thought about it more and decided to be the one to join as my Chief Marketing Officer, since he has a big Marketing background. Ever since then it’s been nothing but blessings after with his help.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Networking and meeting hair professionals from different parts of the hair industry. What really turbo charge my reputation was joining the chambers of Commerce of Las Vegas.
