We were lucky to catch up with IVELIS MATOS recently and have shared our conversation below.
IVELIS, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you manage your own social media?
I currently manage my own social media pages. In part I like being able to interact with my followers, I engage in meaningful conversations, I can directly feel the impact that my work has on others. On the other hand, I’d be able to devote a lot more time to content creating if I could delegate the administrative side of social media to a third party.
IVELIS, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into content creating when a former employee of mine told me that I was like no boss he’d ever had. I was a bank manager at the time, my personality definitely does not resemble what you may come to expect of someone in such a serious position. I was in that role in a very professional and serious but also silly, fun, free-spirited manner. My personality is what made me most successful in that role. Since my days of banking I have moved on to real estate and sorry to sound redundant but my personality is what has led clients to feel comfortable putting their trust in me. Currently I am a full time realtor and full time content creator.
I am the funny realtor, that’s what sets me apart from other real estate agents. I bring my charisma and high energy to every deal. It’s a challenge, balancing both worlds. Both demands long hours and non stop dedication, if I take my foot off the accelerator with content creating I lose followers and if I take my foot off the accelerator with real estate I lose clients, therefore it is important stay focused and use the 24 hours in each day wisely.
Ever worked with a realtor that felt more like family than a business transactor? You found me now :)
How did you build your audience on social media?
Staying true to myself, realizing that my lane is family friendly content. I’ve had numerous women DM me and say they appreciate how real I am. I do not portray a sexual persona, I’m constantly on camera with no makeup on. I want enjoy helping women feel comfortable with themselves in this filter-obsessed world. Also finding that my niche is bilingual Hispanics and so creating content that’s reminiscent of our upbringing.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
At this point, with content creating, I am focused on growing a following and and soon starting to transition from comedy into a more serious topic which is one that I’m very passionate about which is a awareness towards sexual abuse on children. It is a subject that hits home personally, that I feel very passionate about. Of course, real estate is the other side of the coin and of course the goal is to become wealthy, grow my reputation, help as many families as possible to find their forever-home. Ultimately I have 2 major goals at the moment, and I am focused on balancing them equally. The end goal is the same, both avenues can lead me to my passion.
