We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ivan Hinson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ivan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to bring people to Christ through fashion. Why, I figured why not bring my relationship with Jesus into my passion with fashion. I treat fashion design like a testimony, It’s an Art form of expression that I can only describe in gratitude to him. Through my wins, losses, pains, struggles, perseverance, resilience, discipline, disappointment, antipathy, rejection, and determination. It seems so natural like a divine gift to give to his people and lost children. I see It as clientele and company discipleship. Why not create a 2 in 1… In further development of the company I am going to invest in missionary’s through the company to mentor and discipline young men of color through company funding.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a designer and creative director deeply guided by faith, with work that draws inspiration from personal testimony and transformative life experiences. My journey into the fashion industry began with a profound love for storytelling through design, which led me to specialize in Ready-to-Wear and Luxury Fashion. Over the years, I’ve cultivated a strong background in creative direction, technical design, and a rich understanding of Apparel and Fashion History, complemented by hands-on experience in Creative Development, Project Management, Trend Forecasting, and Visual Merchandising.
My career includes working with brands like Tommy Bahama and Forever 21, where I refined my ability to seamlessly blend business operations with customer-focused design. Through these experiences, I developed a passion for creating meaningful connections between culture, faith, and design—crafting pieces and narratives that resonate deeply with my audience.
At my core, I thrive on solving creative challenges. Whether it’s developing trend-driven collections, creating visually compelling campaigns, or aligning design with strategic goals, my work focuses on delivering exceptional results that exceed client expectations. What sets me apart is my ability to merge artistic vision with practical execution, ensuring every project reflects both beauty and purpose.
I’m most proud of the opportunity to use my talents to inspire and connect with others. My work is not just about creating beautiful designs—it’s about telling stories that reflect faith, culture, and transformation. For potential clients, followers, or fans, I want them to know that my brand is built on authenticity, excellence, and a commitment to delivering work that moves beyond the ordinary into the extraordinary. Whether it’s through fashion, creative direction, or design consulting, my goal is always to create something meaningful and impactful through testimony and design.

How’d you meet your business partner?
Maliq Neurell and I met as military kids(Air Force). Our parents were stationed at Okinawa Air Force Base in Japan. Where our journey started. We were both around 6 and 7 years of age. It was a connection that ended up becoming divine simply because we got stationed to Georgia together and ended up being in the same neighborhood after Japan. We lived and did everything together for about 7 years. After our youth sports careers ended we were separated before High School. This was the only connection for some reason that I kept out of all of my friends at the time. Years later we decided to go in on a fashion company in 2017 establishing It in August of 2018. Now we’re here!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Having an impact on the youth and others who are influenced by my creative. It’s always refreshing to be in places you never expected and for people to compliment you and your work. A lot of people are shook when they see my work. Although I am not where I want to be hearing from others about where I can be and even about who they compare me to is crazy to hear. A lot of my peers think my company and idea has the potential to reach higher levels and heights than most powerhouse brands because of the message. It keeps me going and to see how the youth is touched and inspired to become something more than what they box black students and kids in to be is liberating. It feels surreal because I’m still looking up to Black Designers while being looked up too. Impacting the community through faith, works, and ideas is a win for me!
