We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Iuliia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Iuliia below.
Iuliia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Art has always been a part of my life. I started to paint when I was a child, and since then, painting has remained a constant source of comfort and creativity throughout my life. What began as a hobby eventually became my profession. In the beginning, I painted everything that inspired me. Later, I decided to sell some of my artworks online, and that’s how I started attracting customers. That marked the beginning of my art career. A few years later, I realized I also wanted to teach, so I began hosting art classes for both adults and children.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an artist with over 10 years of experience, specializing in watercolor and acrylic painting. My work covers a wide range of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, animals, cars, and more. In addition to creating art, I also teach. I host art classes for both adults and children, offering instruction in watercolor, acrylic painting, epoxy resin, and neurographic art.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The journey of growing as an artist has always been challenging, and it continues to be. As a child, I attended art school, but it was a frustrating experience because my teachers didn’t appreciate my work and didn’t allow me to express my creativity. As I grew older, that experience became a source of insecurity about my painting skills. Even though many people told me they liked my art, I didn’t believe them. Because of this, I often felt discouraged, and there were many times I wanted to give up on my art. But each time I fell, I found the strength to rise again and continue creating, because my passion for it never faded. Over the years, I gradually built confidence in myself as an artist. Still, there are people who tell me I lack talent, but it no longer disappoints me. Turning art from a hobby into a career is a challenging process that requires a lot of strength and self-belief. I’ve faced many setbacks in my art journey, and there were times when I felt like I would never achieve success in my art career. But despite all of that, I always found the desire to paint and continue, whether or not I ever achieve the success I want.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Over the years, I realized that it’s okay if not everyone likes your art. That doesn’t mean you’re a bad artist. And if there are times when you don’t like your painting, it doesn’t mean others won’t appreciate it either.
