We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Iulia Curca. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Iulia below.
Iulia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Since I was little girl, I loved sweets. I have been watching my mom and grandma always when they’ve been baking, cooking. No matter what, I always was present in the kitchen. I’ve been watching how much effort they’ve been doing, and a lot of LOVE. Is not simply to create a delicious dish. They always say: attention, love, patience, creativity, fantasy, time, need to put all your soul into.
Iulia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Originally, I’m from Republic of Moldova. Beautiful little country, located in east Europe. I always love to watch my mom baking, cooking. Because, watching her was like a TV show, she always smiling and telling me ( You always put your soul in anything you start to do). Through the years, I learned a lot of recipes, more are coming from my mom and grandma. Some of desserts and cakes, I changed the consistency and add or substitute some of ingredients. I love my kitchen, I enjoy every single minute. When I get an order from my customer, I always make sure they are surprised and happy with the results. I have my own recipes, I created amazing flavors for cake, I braid beautiful and delicious bread.I’m very proud of myself, we started everything from zero, we have been new to this industry, some people have been saying ( is a lot of baking specialist). I answer always (we’re all individuals, everyone has a hobby, way to send creative ideas.
I have good knowledge, love, patience, creativity and fantasy, everything is inside of you, always imagine future dessert or cake. I love so much to create delicious and beautiful recipes.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I’ve had to learn as I’ve gotten older that if you want to succeed, you need to experience failure. You must understand the feeling of all the pressure on yourself and use it as a motivation to continue to conquer the peak of your glory. Once we embark on something, if there is a failure, we should try to turn it into a success, no matter if we have to start again. I also failed many times in life and work. For the sake of my family and for the future, I have to try again from zero. I don’t see failure as a negative anymore. It’s part of my motivation!”
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One childhood lesson I had to unlearn very gradually was the need to always aim for perfection. Growing up, I wanted to be the best and achieve the very best of life. As I became more aware of who I am and the value I can bring to the world, I started learning to trust the process more and not worry so much about whether I achieved perfection. I realized that progression matters more than perfection.”
