We were lucky to catch up with Isiah Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Isiah , appreciate you joining us today. One of the toughest parts of scaling a business is maintaining quality as you grow. How have you managed to maintain quality? Any stories or advice?
As our company continue to grow we must continue to be innovative and adaptable. Our eagerness for high performance along with setting internal goals create those opportunities for advancing. We work hard to be a better company and and acquire better people for our company every day. Our organization of systems and methodologies gives us a complete image and reputation which allow us to grow steadily. I tell myself when I first get out of bed as a agent of change, “Don’t let fear triumphing over rationality.”You will find it more challenging to get through the obstacles that come your way the more nervous you are about the uncertainties beyond, especially if the solutions demand that require you completely change how you do things. I gradually began to accept my role as a leader, seeing myself as agent of change, which meant that I had to cast off the fear that came with being inexperienced and call for the things I knew needed to be done even when I had no clue how to do them. By dedicating my time, having the right mindset and refusing to become stagnant while not hesitating to ask questions I began to immerse myself in the fundamentals of business.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
For those of you who may not know I am an entrepreneur with new world forward thinking and over the years I became highly skilled at using the art of bringing resources together essentially I choose to undertake something and bring solutions to the universe since that is what the word entrepreneur mean. Transitioning requires a change of state. If there’s no change, there is no transition. Undertaking something is a special kind of transition. It’s an internal shift in perspective. To me Transitioning is a way of living. It is an adjective, not a noun, describing all aspects of the shift in who you are and what you know all while moving with the flow of change and becoming more aligned with your purpose.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Honesty built our reputation people don’t donate for pity anymore they do so because they are confident the individual has sacrificed his or her hard-earned money to complete their company mission so they will too.
Any advice for managing a team?
So I would advice every one to follow our model for team management by using peer-to-peer feedback systems Via www.Trello.com as an alternative management strategy to uphold strong employee morale, an elite team, and innovation. Our team members are required to submit ideas for donation initiatives, events and new programs and provide independent review to each team member every three weeks as part of the system within the board. People want a “leader” when they work directly with you, regardless of whether you are the President, just as they would want one in any other aspect of their lives (family, friends, team sports). This is beneficial. But you shouldn’t try to be everyone’s friend, you should recognize that society already has some innate hierarchies in place and that most people prefer to work with those who are in positions of leadership. It’s probably a good idea if you can accomplish that while still being friendly to them.
