We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Isha Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Isha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?
As a small business owner, it’s important not to overlook the most crucial aspect of IMNovateHP PRO – the client’s journey. Providing a positive experience for clients is vital for our business’s success. In the early days, we believed we had all the necessary professional touches, but when clients reached out for services, we faced challenges in pushing them through the marketing funnel. We realized that what our clients experienced before reaching out had been off our radar, and unfortunately, we lost out on potential customers due to this oversight. This taught us the importance of prioritizing the customer journey.
To stand out from our competitors, we focused on implementing a customer journey map that would successfully guide our clients through the marketing funnel. We understand that each client’s journey is unique, and we strive to make their experience personalized and tailored to their needs. By experiencing the journey first-hand, we show our clients that we appreciate and value their business. Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As Founder & President of IMNovateHP PRO, we were built despite facing numerous challenges early on. We experienced the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic, the George Floyd uprising in Minnesota, and the loss of six loved ones. In the midst of many adversities, I was inspired to create something positive to transmute the circumstances I was experiencing. As I slept one night, I had a dream. My dream would show me my company that represented my initials “IM”, and my state “MN”, while also reflecting my values of motivation, innovation “ovate”, and higher purpose “HP”. The red letters in the company name signify these values and upon waking, I created IMNovateHP. Thanks to the unwavering support of those around me, I am now able to pursue this dream and added “PRO” to the end of the name, signifying professionalism. This was based on numerous requests to collaborate with other businesses.
I established IMNovateHP PRO intending to provide general Business Consulting services. However, after attending a veteran cohort, I recognized the scarcity of minority-owned businesses in government. Due to my father’s military background and subsequent passing, I felt drawn to the government sector as a way to honor his memory. Though I was not eligible to enlist due to my age, I now dedicate myself to Government Contracting as a tribute to my father. Seeing the disparities he faced as a veteran was heartbreaking. He had served his country but experienced the same marginalization as his peers. This is why IMNovateHP PRO is a Business Consulting Firm that empowers minority-owned businesses to overcome barriers and break into the sector of government contracting.

We have experienced, trained, done additional research, and implemented the answer to businesses most pertaining obstacles into our business model. We are “Motivation Today. Innovation Tomorrow,” as we inspire the next generation of government contractors.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
There are several books that I have read, but one that has recently made the greatest impact, is “Who Moved My Cheese?’ I know it sounds like a children’s book. I assure you this is a powerhouse. With less than an hour’s reading, any busy entrepreneur can fit this read into their schedule and change their life. This book has helped me to view the world in a new and exciting way where fear lies dormant as ambition takes full control of my life. I don’t want to give away too much detail regarding the book, but I will say, the foundational lesson in life is in this book.
For example, we all have heard the cliche saying, “There is nothing to fear, but fear itself!” I want to touch on this fear for a moment after reading this book. Fear is a mindset that will leave you stagnant in any arena of your life if you are afraid of change. This little book teaches you the power of change and how fear and complacency may be stopping your growth. For anyone who is looking for a book that opens your mind to impossibilities, this is the book for you!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What I think helped build my reputation within the Government sector is branding. Nothing leaves IMNovateHP PRO without extensive professional branding. Branding distribution across all platforms, products, or services is one of the key elements I believe sets IMNovateHP PRO apart in our Market.
Furthermore, Networking. Networking has been an invaluable piece to our reputation. Companies within the community know IMNovateHP PRO as a Business Consulting Firm that empowers minority-owned businesses. This is one of the key elements we try to reiterate over and over again within our conversations, our advertising, and our films. We ensure that our brand is broad enough to reach firms outside our market, but specific enough to always engage our target audience. This approach is mainly due to the six degrees of separation. For every six people, there is one within that group that you know or have heard of your company.
Community Outreach is also a great way to build a reputation for your company. Industry leaders, lead communities. Having your business involved in outreach events, conferences, and seminars is also a vital way to build your reputation and open many doors of opportunities.
