We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Isaiah Owens. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Isaiah below.
Alright, Isaiah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I honestly feel like everything happens for a reason, It was all Gods timing for me to really start my business in 2020 and to now see my success go big. I started photography winter 2020 after I graduated college. I needed something else to do since I wasn’t going to be able to do sports Video for awhile. I went to a photography event to see if it was something that I wanted to get into but also to really learn how to take photos. a couple months later December 2020 was when I took it serious and starting taking booking and growing my clients with models, started a model agency and was also helping multiple clients start getting paid for modeling which I have done. I would say if I started sooner or later no matter what it was all God timing, God knew when it was time for me to step outside my shell and to really find my passion and love for the camera. I could honestly say It really took me three years to really love what I do and to feel like I really made it and really made a name for myself so I feel that everything happens for a reason, I just always knew I was gonna be star and go big doing what I love. I could say looking back if I didint take the leap of faith and start when I did I wouldn’t be where I am at today, I wouldn’t be this happy, I wouldn’t been able to really afford the things that I have now, I wouldn’t be so motivated every day like I am now to just wake and always make content. I have also started my tiktok journey and that is something that I do wish I would of started sooner because now I’m changing more lives than I have ever changed, I get people that will text me and tell me that my video is on there FYP- For you page and it touched them.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am published Photographer, a Videographer and Philanthropist. The way that I got into the industry was basically seeing a flyer online and taking that leap of faith to go see if it was something that I wanted to get into which has now led me to have several magazine publications and articles. The discipline is really real for me. I know that if I want to drop three videos a day on tikok to inspire everyone I need to make sure I take a good nap and set time for it. The other discipline that comes with everything that I do is sacrificing time with family and friends because I need time to edit my photos and the other content that I make for other platforms that I am on. The type of serivces that I give is photoshoots and I help clients that join my model University to learn how to pose, the marketing aspect of modeling and how to get gigs in this business. I also doing videography aswell such as doing music videos to help clients get there music recognized. I did a music video for an Artist out of Michigan named Artdogg and he gained 7,000 followers in 24 hours and that helped him get more out there and get label meetings. The problems that I solve my clients are when they are stuck coming up with an idea for there photoshoot, I am able to take the idea that they have and make it come to life. What sets me apart from others is I am very creative, I come up with all my ideas and I am also very motivated and don’t let up at all. I am most proud of seeing my clients get paid for gigs that they been wanting to book and getting published in magazines. I want them to know that I am here to help your career get to the next level and I really love what I do and just want to see everyone accomplish all there dreams and goals that they have set for themselves.

Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
My main goal with my creative journey is to help souls and saves lives. I want all my work to inspire people and motivate them that they can accomplish anything that they wanna do in life. I also wanna do more photoshoots that are about issues that are going on in the wold right now. Such as depression and anxiety. I do have friends that deal with depression and anxiety and I feel that I have a big platform to where I am able to talk about these issues through my work of art. There is so many people right now that are suffering and that just want to give up and throw in the towel but I want people to look at my work and that inspires them to keep going In life and that God has so much more for them in life.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I actually made myself pivot. I wanted to really learn how to do photoshoots outside with natural light. All summer I did photoshoots outside and keep practicing until I got better and to where I wanted it to be. Now I love doing photoshoots outside , I love the way that the color looks in the photos with the background and all my clients have been loving it and want to keep shooting more outside.
