Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Isaiah Daniels. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Isaiah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
One of the most important lessons I learned as a business owner came from my time working as a manager at McDonald’s. After being promoted from Crew Trainer to manager, I faced a difficult transition. Many of my co-workers were also friends, and when I stepped into the management role, they expected things to stay the same. They thought they could push boundaries and get away with more just because of our previous relationship.
At first, I was paralyzed by the fear of losing those friendships, and I found myself struggling to maintain authority. My first quarter review as a manager was eye-opening; despite my general manager going easy on me, the results were clear—I wasn’t performing as I should have been. It was at that moment I realized I had to make a choice: continue down the same path and risk losing my position or step up and lead, regardless of what others might think.
I decided to put my responsibilities first. It wasn’t easy, and it meant that some of those friendships faded. But what I gained was far more valuable—a deep understanding that true friends won’t make your job harder. They will respect your role and work with you, not against you. This experience taught me to prioritize my goals and responsibilities, which has been crucial in my journey as a business owner.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Isaiah Daniels, the founder of Bolovial Films, a video editing company that specializes in crafting short-form, high-energy video content. My journey into the world of video editing began with a deep passion for storytelling and a love for the art of visual communication. Having worked in various roles before launching my own company, I’ve developed a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence, qualities I carry into every project at Bolovial Films.
At Bolovial Films, we focus on editing short-form videos, typically ranging from 1 to 3 minutes, that are designed to captivate and engage audiences. We primarily work with YouTubers, influencers, and gamers, helping them bring their visions to life through quick cuts, zoom-ins, vibrant overlays, and seamless B-roll footage. Our editing style is dynamic, inspired by creators like Edgar Wright, and it’s tailored to keep viewers hooked from start to finish.
What sets Bolovial Films apart is our dedication to authenticity and representation. We believe in presenting content that is true to its core while making it accessible and engaging for a wide audience. This means working closely with our clients to understand their vision and ensuring that the final product not only meets but exceeds their expectations.
I’m particularly proud of our work in the video game niche, where our editing techniques have been proven to drive views and build strong communities around content creators. Whether it’s capturing the intensity of a gaming moment or showcasing the highlights of an influencer’s day, we’re committed to making every second count.
For potential clients and followers, I want them to know that Bolovial Films is more than just an editing service; it’s a partner in their creative journey. We’re here to help them tell their stories in the most impactful way possible, and we’re constantly pushing the boundaries to deliver exceptional results. Our goal is to elevate their content, helping them grow their audience and achieve their creative goals.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Starting Bolovial Films was a journey rooted in careful planning and hard work. I initially funded the business by working a 9-5 job while also taking on various side hustles. Over time, I managed to save enough to comfortably support myself for a year without needing to work full-time. This gave me the freedom to quit my job and fully focus on building my business.
Even after making that leap, I continued with side hustles to maintain financial stability and ensure I could take care of clients as soon as they came on board. I still rely on these side hustles during quieter periods, which allows me to stay flexible and dedicated to Bolovial Films whenever new opportunities arise.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the freedom it offers to think and express myself based on how I feel in the moment. I’ve always been inherently creative, and I genuinely enjoy making videos. The knowledge I’ve gained from running a YouTube channel has fueled my passion, and I believe that this education is something that should be shared with others, not kept to myself.
