We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Isabella & Michelle Doherty. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Isabella & Michelle below.
Isabella & Michelle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
We saw a similar concept about two to three years ago and always wanted to try it. Initially, we considered a different business that required a brick-and-mortar space. However, we realized it wasn’t the right time for commercial real estate and decided to pivot. We started by buying a horse trailer on Facebook Marketplace that was originally built as a coffee and concession stand. We had plans to make improvements but soon realized it wasn’t quite right for our vision. The person we consulted actually bought the old trailer from us and helped us find a new one, which he customized from scratch to match our exact needs. That’s how Nips & Sips came to life, with a new trailer that perfectly fit our vision!

Isabella & Michelle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We’re a mother-daughter duo who turned our love for hosting into something so much more—Nips & Sips, a champagne cart and mobile bar service designed to bring fun, flair, and a touch of sexy elegance to your next event.
A few years ago, we came across a similar concept and were instantly intrigued. But at the time, we chose a different path and pursued a brick-and-mortar business. After going through that process, we realized commercial real estate just wasn’t the right move for us at that moment—and honestly, it felt like the perfect sign to finally launch this dream instead. We started with a champagne cart, and then things just took off. Soon after, we found a horse trailer on Facebook Marketplace and worked with someone to completely transform it into our gorgeous mobile bar.
Today, we offer two options: our Instagrammable champagne cart that’s perfect for birthdays, baby showers, store openings, and small gatherings—and our full-service mobile bar, which is ideal for larger events like weddings, corporate parties, and big celebrations. Our mobile bar comes with bartenders, a curated menu, and all the extra touches that make your event feel elevated without you lifting a finger.
What sets us apart? We’re not just serving drinks—we’re creating a vibe. Our setups are always aesthetically pleasing, our service is fun and friendly, and we go above and beyond to make sure your guests are wowed. Most mobile bars lean rustic or country chic, but we bring something a little more glamorous, a little more playful, and a lot more memorable.
We’re most proud of the fact that we built this together from the ground up—and that we get to work side-by-side as best friends and business partners. We want our clients to feel like their event is taken care of with heart, style, and a lot of bubbly energy. Whether it’s a luxe bridal shower or a disco-themed birthday bash, we’re here to help you host effortlessly and fabulously.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
Starting a business from scratch with your own funds can be nerve-wracking, especially when every expense feels significant. One of the biggest risks we took was investing heavily in marketing right from the start, knowing how important it was to make a strong impression.
We decided to create eye-catching signage for events and a unique cocktail menu that doubles as a services menu. This way, guests could take something memorable home. We also introduced branded tote bags for brides—an extra touch that’s a bit pricier but leaves a lasting impression.
We know these efforts will be worth it, even if it’s a bit scary to invest so much upfront. In the end, it’s all about creating memorable experiences that set us apart and keep our brand in people’s minds long after the event.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
As a social media manager, I knew I wanted our social media presence to be fun, vibrant, and a reflection of the journey my mom and I share. From the get-go, I told my mom she’d be dancing and doing some pretty funny stuff! My whole vision was to share not just our beautifully set-up mobile bar and champagne cart, but also the behind-the-scenes magic—what we do to get ready, our daily hustle, and all the different angles and aspects of the business. I believe people nowadays want to see the faces behind the brand, not just the product or service. So, we try to post at least three to five times a week, if not more, to keep that connection strong.
