We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Isabella Fridegotto a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Isabella, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
On 2022 I had the honor to sing along with Andrea Bocellii, Matteo Bocelli, and Pia Toscano with the Florida Atlantic University Chamber singers Choir on February 14th. It was an amazing experience I will never forget. Besides that, I sang the “Messiah” along with the Florida Atlantic university chamber singers choir with the Palm Beach Symphony on December.
Isabella, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a musician who sings at Weddings, Events, University activities, Concerts, etc. If you are ever in need of a singer let me know! I will be glad to sing for you and your guests. Just contact me on Instagram @isabellafridegotto or send me an email at [email protected] I will be performing on February 14th at Roman el Ro Concert at Cuz Miami in Doral. We will be singing “Créeme”together, a song Roman wrote and I will be singing one of my original songs “I Dream”.
I am currently working on a couple of songs that later on this year will be released and available on all platforms for people to listen to. On another hand I’ve had the opportunity to learn producing techniques with Alfredo Matheus Diez, a Venezuelan producer, audio engineering, songwriter. It is amazing to work along people like Matheus that help me grow in the industry and teaches me ways to advance and be multitask, I am very blessed to have maestros like him.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an Artist is to see how your music connects with people and how it helps them. I usually write my own experiences on the songs I produce and I think it is very rewarding to see that not only you are going through a situation. There are a lot of people who are going through similar situations in life and they can lean on your music to stand up again or just enjoy a good time. It is very exciting when friends and family members show your music to new people and tell them to listen to it and their reactions are priceless. I think Music is something we all should carry in out lives. I wouldn’t trade it for anything else, it is my therapy, my light, my safe space, my passion and my inspiration to keep going in life.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was vocal technique. There were some techniques that were actually hurting my vocal chords that I noticed last year. I had to reprogram my mind and self to be able to fix those problems. I can’t tell you that they’re gone because fixing those things take a lot of time. It takes practice and effort since they become muscle memory like Dr. Mitchell Hutchings describes. There are a lot of exercises to warm up the voice that I used to not do because I thought they were unnecessary and boring. Let me tell you it is imperative to do those because your voice gets tired over singing for a long period of time and you won’t be able to recover from an injury so easily. Our Instrument is inside our body and it has to be taken care off.
