We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Isabella Diaz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Isabella below.
Alright, Isabella thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
When I discovered music production, that’s when I could really envision a career as an independent artist. I’d always loved singing and writing music, but this was definitely a turning point for me. Nowadays, there’s so much access to professional music software. We no longer need to schedule studio time to make records or release albums.
When I first learned that I could release music independently, without being signed to a record label, I couldn’t wait to get started! I spent about a year experimenting with digital audio workstations, and then I was ready to release my debut single, “How Many Hearts”!
Throughout high school, I went on to release several singles. My life consisted of studio time, advanced school work, and local performances in the Tampa area. I had my mind set on creating a full-length album. This past summer, I was finally able to do just that; I released my debut album, “Trapped In Time”.
I think the aspect I love most of all–that continues to inspire me–is the connection I get to create with others when I perform. Lyrics are always up to interpretation. If I can help someone feel less alone, or if my music can uplift others, I can’t imagine a better outcome.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a singer-songwriter and independent Pop artist from Tampa, Florida. I’ve been releasing original music on all platforms for four years. I’ve also filmed various music videos, all available on YouTube.
Sometimes my lyrics are autobiographical; other times, they’re based on more general concepts, or the experiences I’ve observed through others. My songs consist of stacked vocals, airy synth, and energetic Pop beats. You can especially hear this in “Liar”, “Optimistic”, and “Wannabe”. My music also varies in style and genre. Some songs, such as “Trapped In Time”, sound darker than others. Then there’s “Self-Reflective”, which has Pop-Rock influences, distorted guitar, and angsty lyrics and vocals. And if you’re looking for a chill, vibey atmosphere, “Disguise” is for you.
Recently, I’ve been working on new ballads and more R&B-influenced tunes. I’ve been inspired to write, and I’m thrilled to continue sharing music in the future.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
There is a tendency to expect a quick turnaround between releases. I want my listeners to know that my music comes from an authentic place. I’ve learned that it’s important not to rush the writing and production process. It takes time and dedication to feel good about the music that I release.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I try to have an authentic presence on social media. Followers are a significant part of my journey as an artist and creative. I’ve seen the most growth in my fan base after posting visual content, performing at live shows, supporting other artists, and being involved in the Arts community. My advice is to engage with your audience. Let them get to know you on a personal level. Make meaningful connections with others in the industry. A conversation may lead to unexpected opportunities and collaborations.
