We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Isaac Krapf a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Isaac thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project to me was the first record I worked on. It essentially catapulted me into recognizing that music is something I want to do and something I want to be able to do as often as I can.
The project was entirely written / tracked by me. This included the drums, bass, guitars, vocals and lyrics.
Because of the level of personal involvement in the project it will always be valued and meaningful to me.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I got involved with music out of highschool after the thoughts and disillusionment of “what now?”
I spent hours everyday working towards learning how to play guitar, bass, drums and eventually worked towards being able to sing.
I actively gig in the Baltimore music scene and perform original shows. I also offer live performance services to other bands & musicians who are in need of fill in work.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Simply that people even bother to listen to the music and come out to shows. I cannot undersell the value and feeling it brings to the artist.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Come out to shows, buy merch, share the artists social media links on their platforms.
