We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Isaac-ike Zadikoff a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Isaac-Ike thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear stories from your time in school/training/etc.
Education and training are tools which provide crucial knowledge when working to grow in your profession. There are significant anecdotes that i can reflect on as part of my growth process. During the completion of my dual track master’s degree program in rehabilitation counseling and mental health counseling, I was privileged with two valuable resources which allowed me to support my clients as best as possible. The Rehabilitation Counseling program at Florida International University instilled a discipline of always having the empirical and substantial fact to support an idea, a line of thinking, and the importance of recognizing the abilities and strengths of others. Moreover, Dr. Alison Davis, who supervised my training, was a major source of support during my growth in this field. The hours spent while we consulted over cases were a constant source of reassurance, never letting me succumb to doubt in my competence as a counselor. There were many moments while studying for my licensure exam where I questioned my knowledge, but her encouragement and guidance allowed me to achieve the goal of receiving my license. The beginning of my practicum took place as a counselor at Vocational Rehabilitation. This is where I learned critical skills in tailoring my practice to the individual instead of solely focusing on a diagnosis. Understanding a diagnosis can help in identifying symptoms but it’s between the therapist and client to identify their strengths, their goals, and the changes that they want to make in their lives. The training and education I received during my time atFlorida International University has allowed me to pursue my passion and gain valuable skills in the field of Counseling.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Isaac-Ike Zadikoff, and I am the founder of Revised Perspective. I strive to use my knowledge as a therapist, as well as my lived experiences to help people who are seeking to create meaningful change in their life. Living with Cerebral Palsey and Retinopathy of Prematurity has given me the opportunity to recognize the importance of finding common ground with others. I have been fortunate to have people in my life who have constantly reminded me of my abilities. When working with individuals, I strive to provide the same uplifting motivation. The mission of Revised Perspective is to work in collaboration with clients to facilitate and achieve mental health goals. We strive to empower clients through numerous approaches, based on individual needs. Services are provided both virtually and in-person. We provide consulting services that seek to encourage mental health in the workplace and promote equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities. Consulting services are available for companies of any size and industry. These consultations are provided in various forms such as presentations, office visits, etc. My main approaches when providing one on one counseling include Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Reality Therapy.
My work is unique in the market of mental health due to my counseling approach. As a Mental Health Counselor,, I seek to tailor to the individual, their holistic-care, and their abilities. My background in working with individuals who have disabilities at Vocational Rehabilitation, along with my certification in Rehabilitation Counseling allows me to implement this expertise in my practice. Working with people on an individual basis has allowed me to grow as a therapist and a person. This growth gives me the opportunity to better serve future clients and is something I take pride in achieving.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would choose the same profession or specialty?
Yes, absolutely! I would choose the same profession as well as specialty. Being a therapist allows me to empower people to make the changes that they want to make in their lives. This is more than a career, it is my passion. It is my purpose and a way that I know that I can impact the community in a positive manner.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I continue to build up my reputation within this market in a couple of ways. The first is by creating a name of being compassionate and reliable as a therapist in my personal practice. I also continue to grow the company on social media platforms like Instagram and Psychology Today, I have completed multiple presentations, did interviews like this one, and organized free-public events. My mission in all of these places remains consistent. I seek to help others through meaningful therapeutic sessions on an individual level, while working to impact the community at large. Consulting services are created as part of my overall desire to create change in a positive way. For Revised Perspective, this is only the beginning.
