We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Isaac Allanarem. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Isaac below.
Isaac, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
I am excited to reminisce on my modeling journey by sharing the story of my first paycheck. Nothing beats the thrill of landing your first booking. In 2019 I signed with a talent agency in Scottsdale. A few weeks after signing, I landed my first commercial print booking with Banner Health. I was nervous when I arrived on set that day since it was my first time participating in a commercial print campaign. My nerves started to calm down an hour or so later after I began conversing with the other talent on set. After an additional hour or so passed, the director told me to go and get my makeup and wardrobe done. After finishing my makeup and wardrobe, the crew brought me to the backyard to shoot the designated scene. There were about six to seven other models in this scene. The photographer captured us conversing with each other and acting like we were enjoying ourselves at a backyard barbeque pool party. Banner Health would then use these images as stock photos for its promotional pamphlets and brochures. Shooting this scene lasted about thirty minutes. After it was over, I handed my voucher to the director to sign. Once I got home, I emailed my signed voucher to my agent, and she took care of the rest. A few months later, I received my check in the mail, and it was a fantastic feeling.
Isaac, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those that do not know me, my name is Isaac Allanarem, and I am a commercial print model. I have been modeling for about four years now. Commercial modeling aims to sell products to everyday customers. I love the thrill of being a part of different campaigns. I love that it has allowed me to make many connections, make new friends, make extra money, and challenge myself. Despite its many rewards, modeling has only sometimes been a joyous and smooth journey. When I first started, I used to compare myself to other models, often resulting in me dealing with imposter syndrome. I also had to learn how to deal with rejection. You won’t be every casting director’s or client’s “cup of tea,” and that’s okay. Most of the time rejection isn’t personal. It’s just logistics.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
There are a lot of rewarding aspects, so it is not easy to pinpoint just one. The most rewarding aspects of commercial modeling are the supplemental income, meeting many interesting people, and seeing yourself in an ad, brochure, or any other printed material.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
