Isa, appreciate you joining us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
In my journey as an actor, I delved deep into the intricacies of evoking emotions on camera, and this experience was transformative. I learned to convey compelling narratives, capture high-quality footage, and genuinely connect with the audience on an emotional level. Authenticity became my cornerstone, as I recognized its indispensable importance in content creation. Furthermore, my background as a top-performing salesperson in the Food and Beverage and Nightlife industry enhanced my skill set. I excelled in delivering exceptional hospitality, going beyond understanding clients’ needs to fulfilling their desires. This alignment seamlessly integrated with the strategies I employed.
The fusion of my sales expertise and acting skills enables me to create quality content with a strategic edge. I construct sales funnels and infuse the brand’s story into content strategies, ensuring a creative and tailored approach. This precision blended with storytelling results in engaging, educational, and action-driving content, delivering meaningful and impactful campaigns across various industries.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I entered the digital marketing industry through my background in sales, which led friends to seek my assistance in managing their social media profiles. In 2018, I embraced this opportunity full-time, offering services such as social media management, content creation, and strategy development.
My artistic background, coupled with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, allowed me to assist them with their graphic design needs. As a multimedia artist, I bring a unique ability to craft a cohesive brand aesthetic that complements their digital presence. What distinguishes me is my holistic approach in combining strategic sales knowledge, artistic skills, and multimedia expertise to create compelling and visually appealing digital experiences for my clients.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the habit of saying “YES” to every opportunity that came my way. I discovered that it’s crucial to be discerning.
The backstory involves experiences with clients who weren’t the right fit. I realized that every project discussion should be a two-way assessment. I’m not just being evaluated; I get to also evaluate if the business and project align with my goals and values.
As a freelancer, I learned that it’s essential to value myself. This shift allowed me to become selective. The lesson: not every opportunity is worth pursuing, and it’s okay to be exclusive for a more fulfilling career.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Over time, I’ve come to realize that by teaming up with other freelancers, we can collectively offer a broader range of services to our targeted clientele. Collaborative efforts have proven to be a valuable resource that not only enhances the quality and diversity of services but also fosters creativity and innovation in our projects.
